Hatred of Israel

On May 4, 2021, Saad tweeted: “shut the f**k up bird b**ch, our grandparents wouldn’t be proud seeing their sons dancing with the soldiers of an apartheid state.”

Birthright Israel is a heritage trip to Israel for Jewish young adults from across the world.

Hatred of Zionism

On May 30, 2021, Saad tweeted: “zionism is a plague to this world, a disease, a mental illness.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

On May 11, 2022, Saad tweeted: “There is absolutely no justification for Zionism. It is a violent ideology that thrives off the killing and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. Zionism is a form of supremacy which makes it inherently racist at its core.”

On May 27, 2022, Saad tweeted: “Zionism is an ideology, therefore open to well deserving criticism since it’s a horrible one. Cry about it.”

Saad’s tweet was in response to a tweet displaying graffiti covering a wall at the University of Melbourne, that said “F**K ZIONISM.” The tweet said: “This is what paves the way for physical attacks on Jews.”

Supporting Terrorists

On June 26, 2022, Saad tweeted a montage of four images and wrote: “The IOF and settlers have a record of killing Palestinian women.” Two of the images honored women who died in their attempts to stab Israeli soldiers.

“Israeli Occupation Forces,” or “IOF,” is a derogatory name for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) used by anti-Israel activists to demonize Israel’s army.

On June 14, 2022, Saad tweeted: “Hezbollah liberated southern Lebanon from the Israeli occupation.”

Hezbollah has long been known as an anti-Semitic and genocidal terror organization dedicated to destroying Israel.

On May 21, 2022, Saad tweeted a photo of terrorist Leila Khaled and a graphic containing one of Khaled’s quotes criticizing “Western Revolutionaries.”

Saad wrote: “Anyways. activism, true activism, is supposed to make u uncomfortable. it’s about being loud, aggressive, shoving it down (powerful) peoples throats, and forcing it in the media. it’s not instagram story infographs like a lot of u wish it was.”

Leila Khaled is a leading member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and participated in the hijacking of TWA Flight 840 in 1969 and El Al Flight 219 in 1970. As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau. Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated [00:36:07] for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.

Hatred of America

On July 4, 2022, Saad posted a picture of American and Israeli flags being burned and tweeted: “No fireworks? No problem.”

Saad retweeted a June 10, 2021 tweet that read: “the US is a significantly more violent and destructive terrorist organization than Hamas...”

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 2] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

On May 30, 2021, Saad tweeted about the United states, writing: “the only ideas this country was built on was genocide, racism, imperialism, and colonialism...”

Demonizing Israel

On May 10, 2021, Saad tweeted: “the fact that this isn’t on every national news station, the fact that the world is silently watching this abhorrent state commit acts of violence against Palestinians in their place of worship. WHY IS THE WORLD SILENT, THIS IS ETHNIC CLEANSING RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES.”

Saad’s tweet featured video footage of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli law enforcement inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

On May 7-10, 2021, violent clashes broke out between Palestinian worshippers and Israeli police at the Al-Aqsa compound, following claims that Al-Aqsa Mosque was in danger. The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy Al-Aqsa has been a traditional pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before the existence of the modern Jewish state.

On May 21, 2021, Saad tweeted: “...Palestine is stolen land and the Is*aelis are colonizers who have been systemically oppressing the Palestinian people for decades...”

Saad retweeted a June 29, 2021 tweet that read: “Don’t stop talking about #SaveSilwan Palestinian’s are being ethnically cleansed and assaulted by Israeli occupation.”

Jewish ownership claims to lands in Silwan, a Jerusalem neighborhood also known as Shiloach, have been frequently met with Palestinian violence against Israelis who sought to reclaim their property rights.

Supporting BDS

On May 13, 2021, Saad tweeted: “alright y’all here is a thread of companies to boycott, these are companies that are affiliated and heavily associated with the zionist apartheid state of israel.”

Saad tweeted a thread of graphics from the letstalkpalestine Instagram page displaying “An Actvisit’s List of Complicit Companies” to boycott. One slide read: “Boycotting is an explicitly peaceful tool of resistance.”

BDS

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.

One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”

In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”

The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.

BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.

The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.

Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.

BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
