Overview
Braden Rice has spread anti-Semitism, promoted an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory, equated Israel with Nazi Germany and whitewashed the Holocaust.He also promoted anti-Israel conspiracy theories, called for the destruction of Israel and spread hatred of Israel, as well as Zionists. Rice is also a supporter ofthe Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of February, 2020, Rice’s LinkedIn page said he was working part-time as a Pizza Hut delivery person since August, 2019. His LinkedIn page also said Rice was studying “Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services” at John A. Logan College in Carterville, Illinois, from 2018-2020.
In response to accusations of anti-Semitism, Rice tweeted in February 2020: “Bruh I’m literally Jewish by birth.”
As of February 20, 2020, Rice’s Twitter account was suspended.
Spreading Antisemitism
On February 14, 2020, Rice tweeted: “The Republican party is more loyal to Israel than they are America.”“Dual loyalty” is a historic allegation, found in the anti-Semitic Protocols of the Elders of Zion, that a person is more loyal to Israel than to their country of residence.
On February 12, 2020, in response to a Reverend who tweeted to the CEO of the American Jewish Council (AJC): “Amen praying for you and Israel!” Rice tweeted: “If you pray for Israel you're a judaizer.”
“Judaizer” is typically used as a pejorative to describe a Christian person who “teaches it is necessary to adopt Jewish customs and practices, especially those found in the Law of Moses, to be saved.”
On February 9, 2020, Rice tweeted: “Do you know it was a Jew who popularized blackface? Look up Al Jolson.”
Al Jolson was a Jewish-American singer, comedian and actor.
On February 6, 2020, Rice tweeted: “Instead of migrating to Israel, Ashkenazis [Jews] should’ve taken the opportunity after WW2 to finally create their own European state. Despite what ppl think it wouldn’t be hard to do, there’s plenty of space to create one, somewhere like Kaliningrad would’ve been perfect.”
That same day, Rice tweeted: “Everybody needs Him [Jesus], only real Jews would accept Him, not follow the Synagogue of Satan, and before anyone cries aNTi-sEMitISm that was literally stated by an actual Jew, John the apostle.”
Also on February 6, 2020, Rice responded to a tweet about a Palestinian who was killed while throwing a firebomb at soldiers. Rice tweeted: “So Jewish privelege allows you to invade muslim neighborhoods and kill muslim children? Sounds kinda fascist.”
On February 2, 2020, Rice tweeted: “The Holy Land was never indigenous Jewish homeland, the Jews colonized the ancient Canaanites the same way they are colonizing their Palestinian descendants today.”
One way anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is by denying [00:17:45] Jewish history, with the aim of delegitimizing restored Jewish sovereignty, attacking Israel’s legitimacy and portraying Jews as foreign to the Land of Israel.
On January 29, 2020, Rice tweeted: “Does that mean Zionists will head back to Europe?”
Also on January 29, 2020, Rice tweeted: “Oh shut the f**k up with that bulls**t! I was born a Jew, my whole family is Jewish, stop acting you know what you’re talking about when you don’t. Historical Palestine only became Jewish through colonialism, even my Canaanite ancestors were forcefully judaized by colonialism.”

Promoting an Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theory
On January 24, 2020, Rice tweeted: “My jewish ancestors were Judaized Amorites from ancient kingdom of Bashan in Northern Jordan who fled to Khazaria in the late antiquity, and became wealthy businessmen in Moscow developing contracts with the Tsars and Boyars during the Golden Age of the Russian Empire.”The “Khazar myth” refers to the assertion that Ashkenazi Jews are not descended from the ancient Israelites but instead come from the Khazar People, whose ruling class was said to have converted to Judaism. One way anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is to promote the Khazar myth to deny [00:02:16] Israel’s legitimacy through the denial of Jewish ancestry and Jews’ connection to the Land of Israel.
Equating Israel with Nazi Germany
On December 24, 2019, Rice tweeted: “Israel is a Nazi state.”On February 5, 2020, Rice tweeted: “So you can invade his neighborhood and and try to force him out but when he defends himself he’s a terrorist? Zio-nazis be wildin’.”
Whitewashing the Holocaust

The Temple Mount is the site of Judaism’s ancient First and Second temples and the holiest site in Judaism. The Mount refers to the plaza located above the Western Wall, in Jerusalem.

Supporting BDS
On January 29, 2020, Rice tweeted: “Wow I can’t believe some zionist f**k literally created a whole Twitter account just to harass me, I’m now gonna take this opportunity to publicly support BDS for the first time.”On February 13, 2020, the Prime Minister of Israel tweeted appreciation for American states that have taken “strong action” against BDS. Rice then tweeted: “STAY THE F**K OUT OF OUR DOMESTIC AFFAIRS YOU ZIONIST SCUM.”
On February 15, 2020, Rice responded to a tweet from the Middle East Monitor about a BDS resolution passing at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and tweeted: “Way to go Illinois!!!! “
Also on February 15, 2020, Rice tweeted: “Republicans will complain about globalism in one tweet then defend the companies that support illegal west bank settlements in the next tweet. They break their own standards cucking for Israel #BDS.”
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
