Overview

Benjamin Pulgar-Guzman denied Hamas terrorist war crimes and expressed support for a terrorist on social media during Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists, in late 2023.

Pulgar-Guzman published his remarks in the wake of Hamas terror atrocities and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023.

The Hamas terror attacks left over 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”

Hamas is a designated terrorist organization founded in 1987 that is dedicated to destroying Israel and killing Jews. Since 2001, Hamas has launched thousands of rockets at Israel and on October 7, 2023, Hamas murdered approximately 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped over 200 hostages, including children and the elderly.

Denying Hamas Terrorist War Crimes

On December 5, 2023, Pulgar-Guzman tweeted a graphic implying that Israel fabricated reports of Hamas mass rapes of Israeli women on October 7, 2023. One figure in the graphic says: “Source?” and the other figure, who is portrayed as a superhero and displaying an Israeli flag on his abdomen, says: “I made it up.”

Pulgar-Guzman’s tweet was in response to a December 4, 2023 tweet from the New York Post that said: “Horrific new stories of Hamas rapes in Israel surface, including attack on woman with ‘face of an angel’ who screamed to be killed…” This tweet featured four photos pertaining to the post’s subject matter.

Denial of the Hamas war crimes of October 7, 2023, among anti-Israel activists has been likened to Holocaust denial among neo-Nazis.

On November 13, 2023, Pulgar-Guzman tweeted: “...we know, in real time, that claims of/ 1. Mass rape / 2. Beheaded babies…are all falsehoods…”

Hamas terrorists murdered Israeli Jewish babies during its October 7, 2023, terror attacks. Some of the babies were beheaded and some were murdered in front of their parents.

On October 29, 2023, Pulgar-Guzman posted [slide 1] on Instagram Stories Highlights a photo of an Israeli soldier with text that read: “I cannot emphasize enough how much October 7th was fabricated by the Israelis, and they blamed it on Hamas. THEY KILLED THEIR OWN PEOPLE…”

On October 25, 2023, Pulgar-Guzman posted [slide 83] on Instagram Stories Highlights a social media screenshot featuring two pictures of Israeli babies taken hostage by Hamas terrorists. Pulgar-Guzman wrote: “As Israel shamelessly continues to spread Zionist propaganda.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture. Zionism is a core part of the identity of most Jews.


On October 16, 2023, Pulgar-Guzman tweeted: “Self-defense against harassment [is] much like Hamas defending itself from Israel…”

Support for a Terrorist

As of December 2024, Pulgar-Guzman’s bio on X said: “🔻💿 ‘REVOLUTION’ ALBUM OUT NOW ‼️- 🇨🇱 .”

The inverted red triangle is a symbol showing support for Hamas and Palestinian terrorism. It first appeared in propaganda videos produced by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, during its terror attacks of October 7, 2023. The symbol was used by Hamas to signify one of their Israeli targets.

On October 20, 2023, Pulgar-Guzman posted [slide 12] on Instagram Stories a video of a 1970 interview with Ghassan Kanafani.

Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.  

Biographical Information

As of March 5, 2024, Pulgar-Guzman’s LinkedIn profile said he had been a full-time “Graduate Student and Teaching Assistant” since August 2022.

As of the same date, Pulgar-Guzman’s LinkedIn also said he was studying for a PhD in sociology at North Carolina State University (NCSU), slated to graduate in 2028.

NCSU is located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
