Support for Terrorists

As of 2017, Khaled was a member of PFLP's Political Bureau.
Khaled has said that the second intifada failed because it was not violent enough, advocated for the use of children in terror activities and compared Zionists to Nazis.
The PFLP claimed credit for the 2014 Har Nof Massacre where six people were murdered during morning prayers in a Jerusalem synagogue. The PFLP also claimed credit for the 2001 assassination of the Israeli tourism minister.
Kanafani was a leading member and spokesperson for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) during the terrorist organization’s early years. Kanafani announced the PFLP’s responsibility for the Lod Airport Massacre of May 1972 and was linked to the airport attackers. The attack killed 26 people and wounded 80 others.
Abdelhafez wrote in the same Instagram post: “It should not surprise any historically literate person that America funds and sustains the colonial settler state of Israel.” Abdelhafez also wrote: “Support the efforts of colonized people in their struggles against capitalism, imperialism, and neocolonialism.”
Attempting to Establish a Fordham SJP Chapter
In December 2016, Fordham Dean of Students Keith Eldredge denied Fordham SJP official club status at the university, despite approval by Fordham’s United Student Government (USG) on November 17, 2016.In a December 22, 2016 email released by Inside Higher Ed, Eldredge stated: “I cannot support an organization whose sole purpose is advocating political goals of a specific group, and against a specific country when these goals clearly conflict with and run contrary to the mission and values of the University.”
On April 26, 2017, former Fordham students Ahmad Awad, Sofia Dadap, Julie Norris and Sapphira Lurie filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of the State of New York against the university for denying Fordham SJP’s application for club status on campus, banning their SJP chapter.
On July 29, 2019, NY Supreme Court Justice Nancy Bannon annulled Dean Eldredge's decision to deny SJP’s application for club status and directed the university to recognize Fordham SJP as a university-sanctioned club.
On August 29, 2019, Abdelhafez appeared in a group photo posted to Facebook by Fordham SJP. That day, Fordham SJP held its first official campus event.
On August 30, 2019, the university filed a notice of appeal with the Supreme Court of the State of New York.
On October 17, 2019, Fordham’s student newspaper, The Observer, published an article that quoted Abdelhafez speaking on behalf of Fordham SJP.
In the article, Abdelhafez said that the Fordham SJP was not surprised by Fordham’s decision to file an appeal and would continue “educate the student body on the Palestinian struggle against colonization…”
On October 25, 2019, Abdelhafez appeared in a group photo posted to Instagram by Fordham SJP. Abdelhafez posed with the then Fordham SJP vice president Veer Shetty, Fordham SJP secretary Margaret Cohen and Maria LaHood, the Deputy Legal Director at the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR).
Fordham SJP’s Instagram post read: “Thank you Maria from @ccrjustice for speaking with us and for sharing your expertise, knowledge, and insight

.” Beginning in April 2017, LaHood worked on behalf of CCR to represent the four Fordham students who sued the university for its refusal to grant Fordham SJP club status on campus. On December 22, 2020, the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division overturned the lower court’s August 2019 decision.
In January 2021, the Fordham students filed a motion to appeal the reversal to the New York State Court of Appeals.
In June 2021, the New York Court of Appeals declined to hear the students' appeal of the decision, ending the case.
Anti-Israel Activism (SJP)
On February 20, 2020, Abdelhafez appeared in a group photo posted to Instagram by Fordham SJP, posing with poet and anti-Israel activist Tariq Luthun. That day, Fordham SJP co-hosted a poetry night with Fordham’s Muslim Student Association (MSA) featuring Luthun. The Facebook event page for his performance said Luthun’s “poetry deals with themes of resistance, struggle, and the right of return.”Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” can be a euphemism for nationalistic terror. It is often used to excuse or even glorify anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
Fordham SJP’s Instagram post read: “Thank you @tariqluthun for sharing your beautiful poetry and words of wisdom with us tonight. Thank you all for a [sic] attending! Tonight was wonderfully successful and we couldn’t have done it without you all!

The conference was themed: “Beyond Struggle: From Roots to Branches Towards Liberation.”
On September 20, 2019, Abdelhafez appeared in a photo posted to Instagram by Fordham SJP that was captioned: “thanks to all who joined us for our first meeting this week! we established community guidelines, talked about the history of Fordham sjp, and next steps for the semester.” Fordham SJP held its first meeting as an official campus club on September 17, 2019.
SJP
SJP is a student organization engaged in anti-Israel activity on North American college and university campuses.
The first chapter of SJP was founded in 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley by Professor Hatem Bazian. Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism and defended the Hamas terror group. In 2004, Bazian called for “intifada” in America.
SJP organizes anti-Israel campaigns, including running annual Israel Apartheid Weeks, often in collaboration with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Muslim Students Association (MSA) campus chapters.
SJP has been a major force in pushing the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement on campuses. Chapters have initiated dozens of BDS resolutions in student governments, which have been proposed on or around Jewish holidays, a time when many Jewish students are off-campus.
SJP activists have reportedly physically assaulted, intimidated and harassed Jewish students, disrupted pro-Israel campus events and demonized pro-Israel campus organizations.
Chapters have often endorsed and campaigned for numerous terrorists and whitewashed terrorism.
