Banah Khamis
Banah Khamis [Banah Ali Khamis] is an anti-Israel activist who has expressed support for terrorists, spread anti-Semitism and promoted hatred of Israelis and Israel.
Khamis engaged in anti-Israel activism before and after Hamas terrorist war crimes against Israeli civilians which were executed on October 7, 2023. The atrocities included mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings. The attacks left about 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”
In October 2023, Khamis wrote that she had “worked in establishing” the Philly Palestine Coalition (PPC), an anti-Israel group that calls itself a “Philly-based Alliance of Palestinian, Black & Indigenous communities working to uplift Palestinian liberation.”
As of the same date, Khamis was reportedly the head of the Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter at Drexel University (Drexel SJP). In 2021, Khamis was reportedly president of Drexel SJP.
As of June 2024, Khamis’s LinkedIn profile said she was studying for a bachelor's degree in global studies at Drexel, slated to graduate in 2025. She went by “Banah K.” on LinkedIn.
As of the same date, Khamis’s LinkedIn said she was affiliated with the Muslim Student Association (MSA) chapter at Drexel. She had also been a College of Arts and Sciences student ambassador at Drexel since October 2022.
As of the same date, Khamis’s LinkedIn said she had worked remotely as an “Al-Bustan News Service Media Fellow” at the anti-Israel group Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from July to December 2023.
Khamis received a grant from the Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund for the class of 2023-2024. As of April 2025, the fund's website said Khamis was “born and raised in Amman, Jordan” and “led the annual Nakba Day march in Philadelphia for three consecutive years.”
The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by drawing a comparison to the Holocaust, known in Hebrew as the Shoah, meaning “catastrophe.”
In September 2023, Khamis was listed among the “STAFF & VOLUNTEERS” for the Palestine Writes Literature Festival held at The University of Pennsylvania (Penn). The event reportedly “featured several activists who promoted conspiracies about Jewish power and called for violence against Israel.”
As of May 2024, Khamis wrote on Facebook that she “Lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.”
