Arkann Alkhalilee
Overview
Arkann Alkhalilee [Arkan Al-Khalilee] has defended the terror group Hamas and shown support for a terrorist on social media. She has also demonized Israelis and spread hatred of Israel.As of December 2019, Alkhalilee’s LinkedIn page said she was affiliated with the Muslim Students Association (MSA) at the University of Akron (UA).
Alkhalilee is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
As of December 2019, Alkhalilee’s LinkedIn page said she was a Clinical Technician at Inova Health System from “Apr 2018 - Present.” Her LinkedIn page also said she was Patient Care Nurse Assistant at the Cleveland Clinic from “Oct 2017 - Dec 2017.”
Alkhalilee’s LinkedIn page also said she was pursuing a Master’s degree in Pharmacology at Ohio State University (OSU), slated to graduate in 2019. Alkhalilee graduated from the University of Akron (UA) in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry.
As of December 2019, Alkhalilee used the name “أركان محمد الخليلي (Arkann Alkhalilee)” on Facebook.
Defending Hamas
On August 22, 2014, during Israel’s Operation Protective Edge (OPE), Alkhalilee tweeted: “Comparing #Hamas to #ISIS is pure #ignorance b/c Hamas is not killing innocents, they're resisting against an occupation. But #Israel(1/2).”Alkhalilee continued: “is massacringðnically cleansing #Palestinians b/c they're not Jews& they want PALESTINIAN land. So who's #ISIS twin? I vote #Israel (2/2)”
Israel commenced Operation Protective Edge (OPE) in July 2014, to stop rocket fire targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels.
On August 21, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “The US labeled #hamas as a terrorist organization because the US is #Israel 's BFF, and Hamas(the resistance) is a threat to Israhell.”
On July 30, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “people in #Gaza r telling u they r not being used as a human shield they support Hamas&the resistance b/c a life under #Israel is not a life.”
On July 24, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “I'm sick of that lame excuse 4ur war crimes tht Hamas is using civilians as human shields.No1 does wat u do #Israel cause we all have hearts.”
Throughout the summer of 2014 — during Operation Protective Edge (OPE) — Hamas's deployment of human shields was extensively documented and publicized. Hamas encouraged Gazans to act as human shields to frustrate Israeli efforts to avoid civilian casualties in Gaza.
On July 25, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “‘@Remroum: It Turns Out Hamas Didn’t Kidnap and Kill the 3 Israeli Teens After All http://nym.ag/1pgXp14via @MaxBlumenthal #Gaza’”
Hamas was responsible for the kidnapping of three Israeli teenagers from a bus stop on June 12, 2014. The abducted boys were murdered by their captors, and their bodies were found buried in Palestinian-controlled territory on June 30, 2014.
Supporting a Terrorist
On November 14, 2015, Alkhalilee shared a Facebook post expressing support for terrorist Ahmad Manasra.Ahmed Manasra (sometimes spelled Mansara) and his 15-year-old cousin Hassan went on a stabbing spree in Jerusalem on October 12, 2015, during the Knife Intifada. They critically wounded a 13-year-old boy and moderately wounded a 25-year-old man. The spree ended when police shot Hassan and a passing motorist hit Ahmed. Ahmed was taken to an Israeli hospital. He admitted to investigators: “I went there to stab Jews.” He was later tried and convicted on two counts of attempted murder.
Demonizing Israelis
On November 20, 2012, Alkhalilee tweeted a series of photos juxtaposing portraits of Israeli leaders with NazisThe montage displayed a swastika next to an Israeli flag, Hitler next to Benjamin Netanyahu, Rudolf Hess next to Ehud Barak and Holocaust victims next to dead bodies in Gaza.
The graphic was captioned: “If you can find difference.” Alkhalilee wrote: “There is no difference whatsoever #wakeup #openyoureyes #prayforgaza #freepalestine #exposeisrael #exposewarcriminals.”
On July 24, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted a graphic portraying Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu smashing Pinocchio's head with a stick and wrote: “@abualkomboz: He Never Became a Real Boy. #GazaUnderAttack ”
On the same day, Alkhalilee tweeted a graphic portraying former Israeli Foreign Minisiter Tzipi Livni stabbing Alice in Wonderland. “@abualkomboz: She Could Never Dream Again. #GazaUnderAttack. #Retweet ”
On July 21, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted a graphic depicting Netanyahu holding a butcher’s knife knife while standing in a blood-filled pool shaped like the map of Gaza.
The graphic also portrayed U.S. President Barack Obama preventing the United Nations and international community from intervening, and a sleeping figure, representing the Arab world.

Spreading Hatred of Israel
On August 23, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “An stfu and middle finger up to all u #zionists out there. Children murderers, psycho killers. Do you have a heart? Or a brain? R u human?”On November 16, 2012, Alkhalilee tweeted a photo of an anti-Semitic caricature of a Jew crying under a spotlight with a wounded finger with a caption that read: “Media Focus,” next to a pile of dead Gazan bodies lying out of the spotlight.
Alkhalilee wrote: “#freepalestine #openyoureyes #openyourminds #stopebeingbias #prayforgaza #prayforpalestine.”
On August 19, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “#Israel taught us the definition of hate,murder,oppression. #IsraelKills and this Occupation needs to end. #FreePalestine 3/3”
On August 9, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted:“When they have signs that say’we love humus not Hamas’u know they have nothing better to say. It's not a game of rhymes, it's abt a genocide.”
On August 8, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “we were chanting ‘I #srael is a racist state’ a woman came up to us and said ‘there are no jews in #Gaza who's racist?’.......no comment.”
On the same day, Alkhalilee tweeted: “How heartless is a person still supporting&defending #Israel crimes; the killing of KIDS, the killing of innocent people!! #GazaUnderFire.”
On July 30, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “@mzeyara they have ugly minds&hearts,they r the ones filled with hate&thirst 4 Palestinian blood! Absolutely inhuman #Israel #Israel_kills.”
On July 30, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “@Tea4gunsSC wow how heartless, they are human beings. Ur right though #Israel is a terrorist entity, massacring kids is terrorism.”
On July 25, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “‘@MyFreePal: israel: committing massacres to the last minute. #GazaUnderAttack’ they're killing as many people as possible before it's time.”
On July 23, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “a killer thinks everyone is a killer,whoever takes innocents as a human shield claims everyone does so too. #Israel_kills_children.”
On July 22, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “@azriheller1 of course YES I'm with Gaza always & forever. U r not making any sense #Israel is never the victim & yes #Israel is a terrorist.”
On the same day, Alkhalilee tweeted: “A terrorist entity doesn't have the word #peace in its dictionary #Israel_kills #Israel_is_a_war_criminal.”
On July 21, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “Citizens of the apartheid state of Israel are brainwashed, they're fed what their government wants them to believe & know #Israel.”
Also on July 21st, Alkhalilee tweeted: “Israel is killing civilians &injuring others, then bombing the hospitals to make sure those who were injured die as well #Israel_kills.”
Promoting BDS
On August 26, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “the boycott is still on of course #boycottIsrael #Boycott children murderers #ICC4Israel.”On July 10, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “After this summer I will have no tolerance for anyone who doesn’t boycott Israhell! #BoycottIsrael #boycott_the_murderers.”
On March 20, 2014, Alkhalilee tweeted: “BOYCOTT SODASTREAM #boycottIsrahell sodascream.com.”
On November 20, 2012, Alkhalilee tweeted: “BOYCOTT ISRAEL! Stop supporting war criminals!! #boycottisrael.” The tweet featured a photo listing companies that it claimed support “apartheid Israel.”
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
