Anti-Semitism
On June 3, 2021, Ghaith posted on Facebook: “Can't let the truth get in the way of apartheid Israel and the powerful zionist Jewish lobby.” Ghaith’s post referred to a report about Facebook’s artificial intelligence restricting posts by Palestinian activists due to algorithm errors. On September 20, 2020, Ghaith posted on Facebook: “University of Toronto is bucking at the knees to the power of the Israel lobby in Canada. Who really runs Canada? Probably not Canadians...” Ghaith’s post referred to a news article that said University of Toronto’s law school allegedly blocked the hiring of a scholar due to her work on Israel.
On January 21, 2020, Ghaith posted on Facebook that “Zionism in itself doesn’t seem too different from ‘Lebensraum’... the world did not let Nazism explain away its horrors, as we watch Zionism do for the last century.”
Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.
Lebensraum is a German concept of settler colonialism supported by Nazi Germany.
On January 21, 2020, Ghaith posted on Facebook: “hate group that spreads lies and misinformation.”
Ghaith’s post referred to an image with a fabricated quote attributed to former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, a Jew, that read: “Our race is the master. We are the divine Gods on this planet. We are as different from the inferior races as they are from insects.” The image was taken from a page named “Campaign Against Antisemitism,” which Ghaith indicated in his post that he did not recommend.
Terror Support (PIJ, Hamas)

” and shared a graphic that said “Glory to our Martyrs” with a list of Palestinians killed in Israel’s Operation Breaking Dawn (OBD), including terrorist leader Taysir Mahmoud al-Jabari.In August 2022, the terror organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) threatened attacks on Israeli civilians. Israel preemptively launched OBD. Both PIJ’s northern and southern senior commanders in Gaza, Tayseer al-Jabari and Khaled Mansour, were killed in targeted Israeli airstrikes. PIJ responded by launching more than 1,000 rockets toward Israeli cities.
On August 5, 2022, Ghaith wrote on Facebook: “goy lives matter and hamas is better than any zionist.”
The term “goy” in modern Hebrew and Yiddish is traditionally used to refer to a non-Jew.
On May 22, 2021, Ghaith wrote on Facebook: “... it is important to support groups that resist the Zionist occupation by *ANY*MEANS*NECESSARY* up to, and including, armed resistance.”
Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” can be a euphemism for nationalistic terror. It is often used to excuse or even glorify anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
On May 13, 2021, Ghaith wrote on Facebook: “God bless the resistance” and linked to a post that said: “The violence and atrocities we are witnessing in Sheikh Jarrah, the Al Aqsa compound and Gaza are a continuation of decades of Israel’s brutal apartheid and violent occupation of Palestine. We stand with the Palestinian people as they resist this colonial terror in all its forms. #FreePalestine.”
Incitement surrounding Al-Aqsa and Sheikh Jarrah were leading factors in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists firing over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at Israeli population centers from May 10 to 21, 2021. In response to rocket attacks from Gaza, Israel launched “Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW),” striking military targets in the terrorist-controlled enclave.
Hatred of Zionists
On October 5, 2020, Ghaith wrote on Facebook: “...Humanity should just cancel Zionists. The world would be a much brighter place.”Ghaith’s post was in reference to an article he shared that referred to the “ruthlessness of the Israel lobby.”
On February 7, 2021, Ghaith wrote on Facebook: “Zionists came from ghettos and to ghettos they will return.”
On May 17, 2021, Ghaith shared a graphic on Facebook with a series of quotations, including a fabricatedquote attributed to Albert Einstein, that read: “‘It would be my greatest sadness to see Zionists do to Palestinian Arabs, much of what Nazis did to Jews.”
Hatred of Israel
On May 12, 2021, during OGW, Ghaith wrote on Facebook: “...Palestinians have a right to defend ourselves from a century of zionist colonialism. There is NO Israel. Only Palestine
.”On January 21, 2020, Ghaith claimed on Facebook claiming Zionism was a “national supremacist movement.”
Ghaith also wrote: “Palestine deserves to be free from river to sea,” alluding to a well-known anti-Israel chant.
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free” is a chant calling to dismantle the State of Israel. It has also been employed by Hamas leader Khaled Mashal to call for the replacement of Israel with an Islamic state.
Ghaith then claimed that the international community and the Palestinian allies have a “delusion ‘Israel’ has a ‘right to exist.’” He also said Israel was responsible for the “horrors of colonialism and institutionalized racism.”
Ghaith then expressed support for the Palestinian “right of return.”
The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
In the same post, Ghaith also wrote: “...what more appropriate analogy for the Zionist movement than the Salafist extremist movement of Daesh [ISIS]?... They both created armies of foreign extremists…”
On January 30, 2023, Ghaith replied to a question on Quora that asked: “As a Palestinian, why should I care about the Holocaust?”
Ghaith wrote: “You absolutely should not. Not our problem. Never was. Never will be. Our problem is what the zionist settlers did to the Palestinian people during the Nakba. We should focus on jewish invaders enslaving Palestinians in slave labour camps, the mass murder of many villages...”
The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.
Anti-Israel Activism (PYM)
On May 20, 2021, Ghaith posted on Facebook that he would attend a protest in Toronto organized by PYM, titled “Ongoing Nakba, Ongoing Resistance.” Ghaith wrote at his post: “im going to this one. if anyone needs to car pool from scarborough message me.”On May 18, 2021, during OGW, Ghaith posted a live video on Facebook from an anti-Israel protest organized by “Palestine House” in Mississauga, Ontario, where protesters chanted: “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free!”
On May 19, 2021, Ghaith shared on Facebook a video of the same protest and wrote: “#FreePalestine / #EndApartheid / #Palestine / #mississauga.”
PYM
In 2012, the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM USA) released a statement saying: “Our liberation...will be gained with the path that was written with the blood of our martyrs. We reaffirm that the only path that we are concerned with is the path that explicitly heads towards the liberation of our land and the return of our people to Palestine.”
PYM organized rallies demonizing Israel where it displays propaganda posters supporting the terrorist organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and compared Israel to Nazi Germany.
On October 25, 2015, PYM called to support “intifada” during a period when Palestinian radicals across Israel stabbed and hacked to death scores of Israeli civilians. PYM alleged that “Al-Aqsa Mosque has been the target of particularly brutal assaults” and that “... arbitrary killings are committed daily by the Zionist military and settlers.”
On November 10, 2015, the PYM Facebook page displayed a photo of masked Palestinian radicals throwing rocks and firing rocks from slingshots. That photo was used to promote at least 25 anti-Israel rallies across the globe on or around November 29, 2015 under the banner of “Transnational mobilization for Palestinian resistance.”
On November 30, 2015, PYM displayed a photo on Facebook from one of the rallies showing a sign in support of PFLP member Khalida Jarrar, who confessed to inciting violence and calling for terrorists to abduct Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers.
Another sign showed support for PFLP Secretary-General Ahmad Sadat, who was convicted for the 2001 assassination of Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze'evi.
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
