Ameer Loggins

Overview

Ameer Loggins [Ameer Hasan Loggins] reportedly targeted Jewish students multiple times as a lecturer at Stanford University (Stanford) in October 2023. Loggins has also spread anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel online as early as 2011

The 2023 incident occurred following a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023. The terror attacks left about 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded.
Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”

According to student complaints, in October 2023, Loggins defended the Hamas terror attacks. Stanford suspended Loggins from teaching and the university’s president and provost said the “university works to ascertain the facts of the situation.”

As of October 2023, Loggins had been working towards “earning his doctorate in African Diaspora Studies” at the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley).

Also as of October 2023, Loggins’s LinkedIn profile said he was located in Berkeley, California.

Targeting Jewish Stanford Students in the Classroom

In October 2023, days after Hamas terrorists invaded Israel, murdering, raping, torturing and kidnapping Israeli men, women and children, Loggins gave an undergraduate class at Stanford where he reportedly “asked Jewish students to raise their hands” and stand in a corner. He then separated them from their belongings and claimed: “This is what Israel does to the Palestinians.”

Loggins reportedly separated students into different groups “based on their identities and backgrounds and called them ‘colonizers’ and ‘colonized.’” When a student said he was from Israel, Loggins reportedly said: “Oh, definitely a colonizer.”

In the same class, Loggins also asked students how many people died in the Holocaust. When one student replied “six million,” Loggins answered: “Yes. Only six million.”

Students reported that Loggins minimized the Holocaust, telling them that “more people died as a result of colonialism than in the Holocaust and that colonization was what happened to Palestinians.” Loggins also reportedly said: “Colonizers killed more than 6 million. Israel is a colonizer.”

Loggins reportedly blamed the outbreak of Israel’s October 2023 war with Hamas “on Zionists” and said Hamas’s terrorist acts were “part of a resistance.”

Loggins also reportedly claimed Hamas was a “legitimate representation of the Palestinian people” and “not a terrorist group,” but “freedom fighter,” and described Hamas actions as “legitimate.”

On October 11, 2023, Stanford President Richard Saller and Provost Jenny Martinez wrote that Loggins, who was not named, was reported for “identity-based targeting of students.” He was also “reported to have addressed the Middle East conflict in a manner that called out individual students in class based on their backgrounds and identities.” Loggins was also suspended from teaching at Stanford and the statement said the “university works to ascertain the facts of the situation.”

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, an estimated 2,900 heavily armed Hamas terrorists breached Israel’s border with Gaza. They executed numerous war crimes on civilians, including mass murder, beheadings of children, rape, torture, kidnappings and desecration of bodies. Israel retaliated with a war called “Swords of Iron.”

Hamas broadcast videos of their butchery on social media, often to victims’ social media for families to see.

As of November 10, 2023, over 1,200 Israelis, the vast majority being civilians, had reportedly been murdered during the attacks three weeks earlier. Details are below. Hamas kidnapped an estimated 230 Israelis, including 30 children. Over 3,000 were wounded, many severely. As of the same date, over 8,000 missiles had been fired from Gaza at Israeli communities, with Hamas claiming 5,000 the day it launched the attack.

Hamas began by launching thousands of rockets at Israel and using motorized paragliders “to infiltrate Israeli territory and secure terrain.” Terrorist ground forces destroyed parts of the border fence with Gaza, murdering and kidnapping soldiers.

The terrorists then turned their attention to 22 communities around Gaza, where they went house to house to savagely murder, mutilate and kidnap anyone they found. They executed children in front of their parents and parents in front of their children. They also beheaded children and babies, and massacred entire families, burning some alive who hid in their homes. Hamas terrorists kicked around the heads of beheaded victims like soccer balls. Israelis between the ages of three and 85 were kidnapped and taken to Gaza. Hamas has not allowed the Red Cross access to the hostages.

Over 260 unarmed young men and women were surrounded and slaughtered at one music festival alone. Bodies were publicly desecrated, with some dragged through the streets of Gaza, then beheaded. Women were raped next to the bodies of dead friends.

Forensic analysis of dead bodies showed evidence of torture and rape. Hamas terrorists said they were given explicit orders to carry out the atrocities, including chopping off victims’ legs and raping corpses. Hamas intentionally targeted youth centers and elementary schools to execute and kidnap children. They also took stimulant drugs to give added energy to murder and maim. Nazis also took drugs during World War II to fuel their anti-Semitic massacres.

The atrocities were acknowledged as the worst single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, including by U.S. President Biden, who also compared Hamas to ISIS. Hamas attacked on the annual holiday of Simchat Torah, which that year was on Shabbat, the weekly Jewish Sabbath.

The Hamas atrocities against Israeli civilians are crimes against humanity according to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

The mass murder generated great sympathy for Israel from many countries but led to countless celebrations among Palestinians and anti-Israel organizations in America that back the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

In addition, Hamas called the the October 7, 2023 terror attacks “Al-Aqsa Flood,” a reference to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The allegation that Jews “threaten” to destroy the mosque has been a pretext for Arab attacks on Jews long before Israel was founded in 1948. Such propaganda has led to multiple periods of violence against Israeli civilians.

Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., Canada, European Union, Israel and other countries. Founded in 1987, it has killed thousands of Israeli civilians through mass shootings and suicide bombings. Hamas has also kidnapped children, families and the elderly and held them hostage in Gaza. It has desecrated [slide 2] dead bodies and launched numerous rocket attacks against Israeli civilians.

Anti-Semitism

On May 8, 2021, Loggins tweeted: “Albert Einstein: Letter Warning Of Zionist Facism In Israel (December 4, 1948)...”

Loggins’s tweet included a graphic with a fabricated quote, attributed to Einstein that read: “It would be my greatest sadness to see Zionists (Jews) do to Palestinian Arabs much of what Nazis did to Jews.”

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) highlights as one possible contemporary example of anti-Semitism: “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.” The U.S. State Department adopted the IHRA’s working definition of anti-Semitism in 2016. Over 40 countries have adopted the definition as well.

On September 9, 2011, Loggins tweeted: “Mel Gibson can't make a movie in Hollywood about things concerning Judaism w/o the approval of the powerful Jewish community in Hollywood.”

The assertion that Jews control the media has been traced to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an anti-Semitic fabricated text that depicts wealthy Jews conspiring to take over the world.

Hatred of Israel

On October 8, 2023, Loggins tweeted: “If you’re new to trying to understand what’s going on in Palestine, just know that no other place in the world is more invested in Israel than the United States, and that investment (economically and militaristically) produces biased propagandistic media coverage. That matters.”

On December 2, 2022, Loggins tweeted: “I’m going to need folks to stop conflating the Anti-Jewishness that is connected to Nazism, and anti-Zionism that is connected to the occupation of Palestine via the creation of Israel on May 14, 1948.”

Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their own national home, and the right to develop their national culture.

On June 2, 2021, Loggins tweeted: “...Regardless of who Israel’s new Prime Minster is, he’s going to uphold/push Apartheid against Palestinians. He’s going to support settler colonialism...business as usual.”

On May 15, 2021, Loggins tweeted promoting the idea of “Nakba.”

The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.

On May 12, 2021, Loggins tweeted: “How does one condemn racism and white supremacism in the United States, and condone it in Palestine? How does one call out the knee on the neck of George Floyd in the United States, but stay silent about the where the U.S. learned the tactic of putting knees on necks?”

On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a black man, was arrested and killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The accusation that Israeli law enforcement teaches American police brutal tactics during police exchange programs is used to demonize Israel. Participants in these programshave stated [00:02:14] that the training in Israel focuses [00:13:36] on public policy, counter-terrorism and leadership training in the form of lectures and discussions.

On February 15, 2017, Loggins tweeted: “Standing up against the atrocities committed by ‘Israel’ to Palestinians doesn't make you anti-Semitic, it makes anti Zionistic apartheid.”
