Overview
Ali Salaam [Alex Fidel] has encouraged violence, praised the terror group Hezbollah, spread anti-Semitism and trivialized the Holocaust. He has spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, as well as anti-Israel and general conspiracy theories, demonized Israel and spread hatred of Zionism. Salaam has also promoted the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.In October, 2014 Salaam ran to be Mayor of Encinitas, CA, campaigning as an Independent, at age 22.
In 2017 and 2018, Salaam was a contributor to the American Herald Tribune.
In 2017, Salaam produced and directed a 14-part documentary series called “American Husseini,” described as “one American’s unlikely journey to Islam and Iraq, unveils Islamic convert Ali Salaam’s moving experience into the heart of the Global South (a.k.a. the third world).”
As of June, 2019, Salaam posted on Twitter and Facebook that he was the owner and founder at Insight Media “The Home For God-Conscious Art,” since February 2018.
As of July 2020, The Insight Media website’s “About” page laments “the erosion of family values, glorification of imperialism and global Zionism, idolatry of celebrities, promotion of material wealth, and hatred of God’s holiest prophets from Jesus to Muhammad” and blames “the entertainment industry — specifically in New York City, Hollywood, and “Tel Aviv” for waging “a deviant war against the soul of mankind.”
As of the same date, Salaam’s LinkedIn page said he attended Sonoma State university from 2010-2011 but dropped out “to actively pursue radio broadcasting” and then attended Palomar College from 2011-2013 and studied Broadcast Journalism.
His LinkedIn page also said he then went to San Diego State University (SDSU) in 2016 and studied “Extended Studies, Marketing.”
Salaam’s LinkedIn page said he worked as the Social Media Marketing Manager for MintPress News. The founder of Mintpress News is Mnar Muhawesh who promotes a one-state solution that would see the dissolution of Israel as a Jewish State.
As of the same date, his LinkedIn page said Salaam was the founder and CEO of Ridha Naturals, based in San Diego, California, since December 2017 and spelled his last name ‘Salam.’
As of July 2020, Salaam described himself in his Twitter bio as a “US-born Muslim convert, ex-Jew.”
In June 2016, Salaam tweeted that he was a gun owner.
Encouraging Violence
On August 1, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Can't support the liberation of Palestine when you are friends with people who support the occupation and support all kinds of schemes against the legitimate, popular armed resistance groups of the region. That, my brothers & sisters, is what a gatekeeper is.”Also on August 1, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Let's have a contest: who will liberate Palestine 1st (river to sea). Palestinian armed resistance along with their allies in Hezbollah, the IRGC, Syrian Arab Army, Ansarallah, etc., or uppity Western leftists who think that a Jewish-Arab gay bar in Haifa will free Palestine.”
On May 16, 2019 Salaam tweeted: “Palestine doesn't need solidarity - she needs liberation. Only armed resistance can achieve that...#FreePalestine #Nakba71.”
On May 15, 2019 Salaam tweeted: “Damage control orgs for the Zionist regime - JVP, IfNotNow, CodePink, US Campaign, etc. - reduce ‘Israel's’ crimes to mere apartheid and want to give ‘Israel’ a makeover so that Palestinians can ‘coexist’ w genocidal land thieves. Armed resistance will #FreePalestine. DTI (Death to Israel)!”
On December 7, 2017 Salaam tweeted: “More Kosher solidarity jargon. BDS is great, but Palestinians have the right to armed self-defense just like everyone. I can understand Jewish supremacists denying that right, but Palestinians avoiding the moqawamah? Resistance will save Palestine. ‘Israel’ wants no peace.”
The “moqawamah” in Ali Sallam’s tweet referred to Hay'at Da'am al-Muqawama al-Islamiya fi Lubnan, or the Islamic Resistance Support Organization, a charity used to raise funds for Hezbollah.
Praising Hezbollah
On July 22, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “My home country, America, is no longer much of a country. America, which used to be considered a beacon of freedom, is now under control of terrorists. This is why I am so passionate about defending the Axis of Resistance, including Iran and Hezbollah!”Hezbollah has long been known as an anti-Semitic and genocidal terror organization dedicated to destroying Israel.
On June 18, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Hezbollah is the pride of the Ummah. I'm not saying you're a kafir, but to insult such brave believers, no matter their sect, because you believe in a pack of myths peddled by ex-Hezbollah Tufayli who is now a Zionist asset, then you are a Muslim but not respectable.”
Salaam’s tweet referred to Subhial-Tufayli Hezbollah’s first Secretary-General, who became a vocal critic of Iran and Hezbollah’s leadership.
On July 14, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “‘Israel’ had planned an attack on Lebanon for Fall 2006, no matter what the justification (if any). It was within Hezbollah's right to kidnap ‘Israeli’ soldiers for prisoner swaps. That the Zionists responded by slaughtering civilians shows its true evil.”
On July 10, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “US & ‘Israel’: Create ISIS which massacres innocent Muslims & Christians

On August 14, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Congrats to all my brothers & sisters in Lebanon, as well as to all of humanity, on the historic divine victory of Hezbollah over the genocidal war in July '06 waged by the terrorist Zionist entity who killed women & children, Muslims & Christians. #Hezbollah #DeathToIsrael.”
On August 26, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Sayed Hasan Nasrallah is a hero to all ppl around the world who love real justice, freedom, and dignity in the face of tyranny. He protected Muslims & Christians from Zionist & Wahabbist terrorists.”
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah declared in 2019, that “In a future war, all of occupied Palestine will be struck by our rockets.” Nasrallah also called on Jews living in Israel, in 2017, “to leave Palestine and go back to the countries from which they came.”
In 2013, Nasrallah referred [00:00:19] to Israel as a cancerous tumor and in 2002, Nasrallah said: “If they (Jews) all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide.” He also declared: “If we searched the entire world for a person more cowardly, despicable, weak and feeble in psyche, mind, ideology and religion, we would not find anyone like the Jew. Notice, I do not say the Israeli.”
Nasrallah also said in 1998 that Israel was: “‘the state of the grandsons of apes and pigs - the Zionist Jews.”
Spreading Anti-Semitism
On October 4, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Racism is alien to Islam so obviously our issue is not w things ppl cannot help, like incidence of birth. But ppl can help how they act. If they act like racist terrorists, then we will stand against them. Most Jews aren't even Semitic anyway so ‘antisemitism’ is a moot term.”“Anti-Semitism” is a term used to describe hatred of Jews. It was first coined in 1860 by an Austrian Jewish scholar. However, the term was later popularized in Germany in 1879 when publicist Wilhelm Marr founded the “League of Antisemites,” which advocated for Jews to be expelled from Germany.
On October 3, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Who killed 2 million people in Iraq, riddled the country with depleted uranium which is resulting in birth defects that are as grotesque as they are frequent, and funded ISIS terrorists? Was it Iraq or the American government which is run by Zionist Jews?”
On August 18, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Bill Maher's mother is Jewish. Just putting that out there. Perhaps that explains his hypocrisy when it comes to criticizing religion. White liberals and Jewish liberals are just as racist as their conservative counterparts. #BillMaher #Islamophobia #BDS.”
On August 4, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “The goal is to get both Christians and Muslims to think that Jewish supremacists are their friends. Divide and conquer. Conservative Jews like Ben Shapiro convince Christians to hate Muslims, & liberal Jews like Alexander Reid Ross get Muslims to hate white Christians.”
On August 1, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Martin and Sanders both support the illegitimate existence of ‘Israel,’ so long as it has a ‘leftist’ smiley face on it under the guise of ‘coexistence.’ Jewish supremacists will never ‘coexist’ with ‘goyim’ (derogatory racist term for gentiles), no matter how ‘liberal’ they are.”
On July 25, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “USA is becoming more like Europe, where anyone questioning one oz of Jewish-Zionist power (kinda like what Jesus did) equals jail or fines. Dieudonne's fine was more than the lifetime salary of the avg Cameroonian (his ancestral homeland):#BDS #Congress.”
Salaam’s tweet linked to a video of anti-Semitic French comedian Dieudonne M’bala M’bala, who has been fined multiple times and sentenced to two months in jail for racist and anti-semitic comments.
On July 21, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Keep in mind that Jewish supremacists like Cohen HATE black people and call them ‘schvartzes’ (Yiddish n-word) behind their back.That is why their takeover of hip-hop and pushing of ignorance is an intentional expression of Jewish anti-black racism.”
Salaam’s tweet included a link to an article by the Nation of Islam titled: “The Curse of Ham: No Denying it is a JEWISH INVENTION.”
On July 14, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “... Jewish sexism is driven by the Talmud which says that goy women are ‘menstrual filth’ and doesn't consider sex w/ goyim as adultery. Tablet mag alludes to this.”
Also on July 14, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “When you see a rich, powerful person being arrested for sexual harassment or rape... #EpsteinIsland #Epstein” and included an image of a man covering his eyes and text that said: “Let me guess: ‘berg’ ‘witz’ ‘stein’ ‘baum.’”
On June 28, 2019, Salaam, referencing U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, tweeted: “He's Jewish, which means he believes he is superior to the rest of humanity. That is the very basis of Jewish beliefs is racial supremacism. He doesn't have to say it out loud. In fact, most Jews, especially liberal Jews, keep their goy-hatred under wraps.”
On May 31, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Read my bio. I grew up as an Ashkenazi Jew. What you say about the word ‘goy’ is typical disinformation tactics. It does mean subhuman. I am not generalizing anyone. Allah is clear in the Qur'an: majority of them are cursed and their faith is sealed, except for a few among them.”
On May 30, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Can't compare apples to oranges; can't compare Christians to Jews. There are many Christians who love Imam Ali (as) & Imam Hussain (as). Their book doesn't curse any holy figures; whereas Judaism's books - Old Testament (fake ‘Torah’) & Talmud - slanders many of them.”
That same day, Salaam tweeted: “For those few among the Jews who are good, like Allah says, what makes them good is that they stand for truth unequivocally. They don't censor ppl who speak about the Talmud or Rothschilds. We are not racist: we aren't against their ethnicity, but their distortion of Torah.”
Conspiracy theories regarding the Rothschild family date back to the 18th century. Anti-Semites frequently cite the family’s wealth to support the claim that “Jews control the world’s money supply.”
On May 20, 2019, Salaam posted a photo on Facebook of Jared Kushner, President Trump’s Jewish son-in-law, wearing an Israeli flag on his lapel and shaking hands with a U.S. soldier with a word bubble that said: “Get ready to die for Israel Goyim.” Salaam captioned the post: “#AmericaFirst?”
On January 9, 2019, Salaam tweeted a gif with Jewish Senator Charles Schumer nodding and the caption: “‘Oy vey, yes I very much care about the people. I love goyim. Annoint me as your king and together we can defeat Orange Hitler. I know the economy is tough, but you must donate all your shekels to the DNC [Democratic National Committee]. Jail anyone who criticizes Israel.’”
On September 10, 2018 Salaam tweeted: “Yes, it is thought policery. And it stems from Jewish supremacy, the idea that since Jews are ‘chosen,’ their suffering is more important than anyone else's, and all oppressors must be compared to Hitler and Nazis.”
Trivializing the Holocaust
On October, 31, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Whereas ‘Israel’ is a different story. And no we don't want to ‘holocaust’ them into the ocean, they can go home (i.e. US, Canada) peacefully. The goal is to hold a referendum for Palestinians (regardless of faith) so they can decide, and the resistance liberates the lands.”On July 6, 2019 Salaam tweeted: “Imagine thinking that the US and UK suddenly stopped being evil imperialists for only a few years during WW2, then they became antifa heroes, and then went back to being evil imperialists after saving the Jews from being *allegedly* turned into soaps and lampshades.”
“Holocaust revisionism” is a form of anti-Semitism where proponents deny or minimize key aspects of the Holocaust.
That same day, Salaam also tweeted: “I don't endorse or support Hitler, but he didn't kill 6 bazillion Jews. Nuremberg required zero evidence for testimony. Most people killed in the detention camps were due to the Allies' destruction of Germany's infrastructure & supplies, creating hunger & spreading disease.”
On May 15, 2019 Salaam tweeted: “The real holocaust started in 1948 with the Palestinian Nakba and the genocide against Palestine has never ended, continuing to this very second. Resistance is the only way to #FreePalestine. This perpetual tragedy will end, God willing! #Nakba71 #NakbaDay.”
On March 12, 2019 Salaam postedto Twitter a link to an interview with Syrian President Bashaar al Assad and wrote: “Full interview:P.S. Dear Charlie Rose, in the 1980s, a Jewish holocaust expert Raul Hillberg testified under oath in a court of law that the order to carry out a ‘final solution’ is a myth; no such decree ever existed.”
Also that day, Salaam posted to Twitter a particular section ofinterview on Twitter and wrote: “President Bashar al-Assad defends former Iranian President Ahmadinejad'sfactually accurate historical revisionism vis-a-vis World War 2 and theexaggerations of the event known as the holocaust.”
On January 27, 2019 Salaam tweeted: “In a 2006 interview with Charlie Rose, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said that the details/specifics of the holocaust were exaggerated and that the Palestinians had nothing to do with it, yet are subjected to genocide in the name of it.” Salaam embedded a gif that said: “He’s right you know.”
On September 10, 2018 Salaam tweeted: “Either way, I would expect this type of thought police from Jewish Voice for Peace and other liberal Zionist groups. It silences historical revisionism vis-a-vis WW2, which Ayatollah Khamenei has taken part in. I'm not endorsing Hitler, but not worshiping Holocaustianity either.”
On August 31, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Mentally enslaved House Persians from Sweden trolled me b/c they support Zionism. Imagine that, Jewish supremacists celebrate a holiday (Purim) based on mass murder of Persians, and these guys love them. Bigheirat, dayoos. At least admit to being cucks:”
Salaam's tweet included an article from the Times of Israel (TOI), titled: “These may be America’s proudest ‘Shabbos goys’: Forgot to turn off the light in the fridge? How two Indian shopkeepers in Queens are helping Orthodox Jews observe Shabbat.”
“Cuck” is a derogatory term referring to “a weak, effeminate, unmanly, or inadequate man, who is often dominated by their female partner.” It is often used by “white nationalists to insult” people who they believe are being “'cucked' or 'cuckolded' by other cultures.”
On August 11, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Jews altered the Torah to say Isaac (a) was the test of Abraham (a), but in reality it was Ishmael (a). This was 1 of the reasons for their rejection of Muhammad (S). Abraham's lesson: sacrifice to get close to Allah. Jews couldn't sacrifice their racism & rejected Muhammad. #Eid.”
On August 8, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Because imagine if the world not only saw white people as the evil perps behind African slavery. Imagine if they knew the truth about the Jewish role behind the Black Holocaust. You'd have to pay reparations in the same way you guilt trip the world into paying you.”
On August 5, 2019, Salaam tweeted a link to an ad on his company website, Insight Media. The tweet featured a man wearing a t-shirt with a photo of United States Senator Dianne Feinstein, with the headline: “Give up your weapons, Goyim! (European-Style Socialist).”
Salaam’s tweet said: “Stand for #2A w this shirt designed by Insight Media & @Khanverse … Kahnverse is a “Transcendental Revolutionary Hip-Hop” artist featured on Salaam’s site, who spreads hatred of Jews and is a member of the anti-Jewish entertainment project, Mouqawamah Music.
The T-shirt ad on Salaam’s website said: “Give ‘em up Feinstein - Certified Organic Cotton T-Shirt. Stand up for the 2nd amendment with this certified organic cotton t-shirt. Ships worldwide.” …”
The t-shirt’s description said: “Her husband Richard Blum profited heavily off of the illegal Iraq War that was orchestrated by dual-citizen ‘Israeli’-Americans that killed 2 million innocent Iraqis and thousands of Americans. She also consistently approves the sale of weapons to the terrorist enabling regimes of ‘Israel’ and Saudi Arabia.”
The t-shirt’s description continued: “... So why do Feinstein and other (((gun-grabbing politicians))) want Americans to be disarmed, while stockpiling arms for themselves and their Shabbos Goyim clientele around the world?”
On August 4, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Almost forgot to mention @TruNews & @Know_More_News. Adam Green has exposed the Zionist end times plot to destroy Masjid al-Aqsa & reinstate the Sanhedrin Court. Fox News slandered Shia Islam by saying al-Mahdi is the ‘antichrist,’ meanwhile the real anti-Christ is the moschiach.”
Adam Green has spread coronavirus anti-Semitism, as well as general anti-Semitism, promoted anti-Jewish conspiracy theories and supported anti-Israel agitators.
The term Mashiach refers to a future Jewish king from the Davidic line, who is expected to redeem the Jewish nation and complete the ingathering of Jews from the Exile.
On August 4, 2019, Salaam tweeted an article titled: “Ain’t Nothing Kosher in Pittsburgh: Tree of Life Synagogue Shooting is a Pretext For Zionists to Launch a Mass Crackdown On Free Speech.”
White Supremacist, Robert Bowers carried out a mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagoguein Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 27, 2018.
Salaam wrote in his tweet: “When it comes to the Synagogue shootings, again the same question must be asked: did the shooter act alone?...The agenda is to say ‘Islamophobia & 'antisemitism' are 2 sides of the same bigoted coin’ despite the Islamophobia industry being bankrolled by Jews.”
Salaam linked to the same article again on October 14, 2019 and tweeted: “From Pittsburgh to Berlin, are synagogue shootings being orchestrated by higher ups in order to justify crackdowns on anti-Zionists' free speech and to promote the Jewish victimhood myth?...#Mossad #Berlin.”
On August 3, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “I wouldn't put all blame on the sisters, similar behavior exists in men. But yes feminism is meant to destroy the family as well as to divide and conquer the sexes. The primary propagandists of feminism are liberal Zionist Jews like Judith Butler, Gloria Steinem, Margaret Sanger.”
On June 29, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Watch this explanation about liberal sly foxes: https://youtube.com/watch?v=J6Eqc2JAMbs… replace ‘white liberal’ with ‘Jewish liberal.’ 75% of Jewish families in slave states owned slaves. Sanders' support of Afro-American civil rights was to prevent Jewish anti-black racism from being exposed.”
On July 8, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “You ironically come from Poland & are NOT a descendant of Semitic Jews, but rather Khazarian converts (read ‘Jews of Khazaria’ by Kevin Brook, which isn't a ‘conspiracy’ book but is favorable to Jews) from Europe. Besides, Semitic Jews fought Jesus (as), a Semitic Prophet/Messiah (abt bibi netanyahu).”
On June 3, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “There is a book ‘Jews of Khazaria’ by Kevin Alan Brook. It's not an ‘antisemitic’ ‘conspiracy’ book - actually the blurbs on the back include praise from Jewish historical publications & Jewish historians because of its positive portrayal of the conversion of Khazaria to Judaism.”
On March 29, 2018, Salaam tweeted: “The irony is that the biggest advocates for gun control are dual Israeli-American citizen Senators like Chuck Schumer. They also push for gun control against Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrians by trying to take away their moral/legal right of armed resistance against Zionism.”
Chuck Schumer is a Jewish senator in the U.S. Congress from New York. He does not have dual citizenship. The rumor that members of the U.S. Congress hold Israeli citizenship is a variation of a historic allegation against Jews of having “dual loyalty.”
On April 28, 2019, Salaam tweeted an article containing a conspiracy theory about a synagogue shooting that occurred that day in California and commented: “There was a shooting at a synagogue in Poway today, very close to where I live. Many synagogues in the US have DHS/FBI protection & surveillance - how can a shooter pass by the mass surveillance dragnet? Did they let the shooter slip by on purpose? #poway.”

On April 29, 2015, Salaam shared to Facebooka graphic with text that read: “Help Rand Paul and Rupert Murdoch defeat the Republican Party Establishment” Salaam added: “Especially the establishment that wants to guarantee Murdoch's profits in the oil field in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights that he co-owns with Dick Cheney and Jacob Rothschild of the Rothschild banking dynasty (Federal Reserve).”

On September 7, 2014 Salaam posted to Facebook a photo from Rethink 911.org that said “Did you know a third tower fell on 9/11?” and captioned it: “Expose 9/11 to end the wars! Israel and traitors in the US government are the real terrorists who killed 3,000 innocent people.”
The “Dancing Israelis” conspiracy theory is often employed by well-known anti-Semites, such as David Icke, who claim the 9/11 attacks were a “false flag” operation carried out by Israel.
On September 11, 2019, Salaam posted to Facebookan article from MintPress News and commented: “#NeverForget that the only people to be arrested on 9/11 were ‘Israeli’ Mossad agents. The best way to honor the victims and their families, in addition to the millions of innocents who were killed in the wars based on lies that followed, is to stand for the truth.”
Also that day, Salaam tweeted a link to a t-shirt he was selling through his Insight Media shop which portrayed the Twin Towers burning on September 11, 2001, emblazoned with the Star of David and the words “9-11 Was a Zionist Job.”
Salaam commented: “The best way to honor the 9/11 victims' families is to expose the real terrorists who did the attack: the ‘Israeli’ Mossad. Not a ‘theory,’ but a fact. Expose the real terrorists with this shirt: Ships worldwide! #IsraelDid911 #NeverForget #September11.”
On September 28, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “If only the American people knew that not only is [Israeli Prime Minister] Netanyahu lying about Iran (which has never and will never pursue nuclear weapons, but that ‘Israel’ killed our best president so that it could build nuclear weapons. #Iran #UNGA.”
Salaam attached to his tweet a photo of John F. Kennedy Jr. in the center of a gun sight’s cross-hairs, with the caption: “That Awkward Moment When You Try To Stop Israel’s Nuclear Bombs.”
On May 16, 2019, Salaam posted to Facebook: “Dear Americans: I hate to wake you up from your sleep, but Iran is not your enemy. ‘Israel’ has nukes, not Iran. ‘Israel’ killed US soldiers on the USS Liberty & orchestrated 9/11. They stole US nuclear tech & pushed US to war w Iraq. ‘Israel’ & US created ISIS. #NoWarWithIran.”
On March 27, 2015, Salaam posted to Facebook a statement claiming: “The Koch Bros. support anti-Palestine activism. The oil men don't want to stop the wars that gets them the oil. There's a bunch of natural gas underneath Gaza, but there are too many humans in the way.”
On January 12, 2015, Salaam tweeted: “@JimberTrackie How many Israeli officials live on stolen land? Israel created Hamas like CIA made al Qaeda. Chickens come home to roost.”
The 1917 Balfour Declaration favored the establishment of a Jewish National home in British Mandate Palestine.
On September 18, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Bombshell interview w IRGC [Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps] Commander on @NadersShow: Says ISIS was 100% created by US, Saudi, and ‘Israel.’ Addresses the American ppl to say US politicians are controlled by the wealthy and Zionists, misuse tax $ at the expense of America's well-being.”
On August 16, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “How to not be a pawn in the Zionist Clash of Civilizations scheme:...It's not ‘revolutionary’ to have same views as Zionist-owned CNN, who celebrates diminishing white demographics in the US. It's prep for a new civil war to protect the 0.1%.”

The term “Nakba” is generally translated as “catastrophe” in Arabic, referring to the outcome of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It is a term often used to delegitimize the creation of the State of Israel by defining it as a catastrophe.
On April 3, 2015, Salaam wrote on Facebook: “People who intimidate people into not talking about Israel are really saying that they don't think Palestinian lives matter - ignore the 60+ year long genocide that continues to this very second. All lives matter.”
Spreading Hatred of Zionism
On October 29, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “By the grace of God, I was interviewed on ‘The Fact’ by @vplusen TV about the origins of Zionism and how it affects our world today...#Rothschild #FreePalestine #FederalReserve.”Salaam’s tweet included a video where he stated [00:01:10] that “the roots of Zionism go deep into the racist and supremacist beliefs that have been established by the distortion of the teachings of Moses.”
Salaam further claimed [00:01:47] “Modern Day Judaism” is a “a racialist, race-based, worldview that one group of people is superior to the rest of humanity.”
On September 19, 2019, Salaam tweeted a quote from the English website of Ali Khamenei, The Supreme Leader of Iran, claiming: “‘Zionism is a threat to all humanity. Today even Western governments are under the influence of the Zionists. They too are suffering from the Zionist centers of power and wealth.’ - Imam Sayed Ali Khamenei...#israelelections2019.”
On January 30, 2015, Salaam shared to Facebook a photo ofPalestinian and Lebanese flags hovering above hills and captioned it: “End the Zionist occupation of the Middle East - allow refugees their fundamental human right to return to their homes.”
The “right of return” is a Palestinian demand discredited as a means to eliminate Israel. International law mandates no absolute right of return and UN Resolution 194, which defined principles for “refugees wishing to return to their homes,” was unanimously rejected by Arab nations following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.
On March 16, 2015, Salaam posted to Facebook: “... The problem is political Zionism and its norms of war, occupation, and genocide.... The solution is to have one Palestinian state where all people have equal rights, as opposed to the current Israeli apartheid state where only Jews get full rights and everyone else is below them.”
Promoting BDS
On January 26, 2019, Salaam tweeted: “Sadaf, a brand of various food items sold in Middle Eastern grocery stores in the U.S., is owned by Zionist Jews who support the state of ‘Israel’ with their profits: https://youtube.com/watch?v=QrZc7iUeAkc…Boycott Sadaf! #BoycottSadaf #BDS.”On October 30, 2017, Salaam tweeted a cartoon by Carlos Latuff featuring a man wearing a “Free Palestine” headband. The man had a piece of tape being put over his mouth by two arms, one wearing an American flag and the other an Israeli flag. THe tape over his mouth said: “Anti Semitism.”
Salaam captioned it: “Trader Joe's BLOCKED ME on Instagram for criticizing their Bamba product, which is made in Israel. Blood on their hands! #BDS #TraderJoes.”
On October 29, 2017, Salaam tweeted: “Trader Joe's Bamba: made in ‘Israel.’ No regard for Zionist entity's war crimes in Palestine, Syria, or Lebanon…#BDS.”
On June 5, 2016, Salaam tweeted: “Shame on @NYGovCuomo for silencing free speech and for letting a foreign country dictate the policies of New York. #BDS #FreePalestine.”
That same day, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, signed an Executive Order “to Divest Public Funding Supporting Boycotts Divestment Sanctions Movement.”
On March 7, 2016, Salaam posted to Facebook a video about Rapper DJ Khaled promoting products from the Israeli company, the Strauss Group and captioned it: “DJ Khaled sells out his people for blood money to convince Americans to eat blood products. Take part in BDS until justice is served.”
On April 28, 2015, Salaam shared to Facebook a Salon article written by anti-Israel agitator and Pink Floyd band founding member Roger Waters, urging another musical artist to boycott playing in Israel, Salaam commented: “No wonder Pink Floyd is so awesome!”
Roger Waters is a world-famous musician and BDS activist who has compared Israel to Nazi Germany. He has also been accused of spreading anti-Semitism at his concerts.
On October 21, 2015, Salaam tweeted: “Boycott Re/Max #BDS http://boycottremax.org/action @ReMax #FreePalestine.”
On May 6, 2015, Salaam tweeted: “Thank @MsLaurynHill for canceling Israel gig: we've got her back! http://thankyoulaurynhill.org #BDS #FreePalestine.”
On March 11, 2015, Salaam shared to Facebook a link to an app called: “Boycott Israel” and wrote: “Great Android app.
:).”On January 30, 2015ra, Salaam tweeted: “I support #UCDavisDivest @SJPUCDavis :) #FreePalestine #BDS.”

On September 29, 2013, Salaam tweeted: “I support BDS. I got a pair of hemp pants as opposed to Levi's, who profits off the blood of Palestinians.”
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
