Anti-Semitism

Glorifying Terrorists
On September 7, 2021, Alnajjar tweeted: “The 6 Palestinian prisoners escaping with a spoon from astate of the art advanced jail that was built within the last 7 years is A clear metaphor that liberation is imminent, even without the advanced warfare advantage like that the oppressor has.”On September 6, 2021, six Palestinian prisoners escaped from the maximum-security Gilboa Prison in Israel. The escaped prisoners were convicted members of the terror organizations Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, who were jailed for their involvement in attacks carried out during the second intifada. All were recaptured by September 19, 2021, by Israeli authorities.
On January 4, 2015, Alnajjar tweeted: “...as many would not see it in this way, hamas are the ONLY ones fighting for the people in gaza.”
On July 23, 2014, Alnajjar tweeted: “the same media claiming hamas hides weapons in shools is the same media that claimed iraq to have Weapons of MD [mass destruction] #justsaying.”
During Israel’s Operation Protective Edge (OPE) against Hamas in 2014, the United Nations reported that its inspectors found rockets at U.N. schools in Gaza.
Whitewashing Violence
On May 25, 2021, following OGW, Alnajjar tweeted: “You literally attacked the 3rd holiest site for Muslims, 3 times, during the last 10 nights of Ramadan. You shot rubber bullets and smoke and stun grenades while people were praying INSIDE THE MOSQUE. What the f**k you mean you didn’t initiate this conflict?”On May 21, 2021, clashes erupted outside of the Al-Aqsa compound after Palestinian worshippers threw rocks and petrol bombs at Israeli officers. Thousands of worshippers had gathered at the compound in solidarity with Gaza, following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
On May 23, 2021, following Operation Guardian of the Walls (OGW), Alnajjar tweeted: “The violent resistance from Palestinians are stemmed from the 600 illegal settlements built in the last 60 years on Palestinian Territory. With more new settlements...”
In the same thread, Alnajjar tweeted: “No more illegal settlements / End the occupation / Long live the resistance / #FreePalestine #SaveSheikhJarrahh.”
Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” can be a euphemism for nationalistic terror. It is often used to excuse or even glorify anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
In May of 2021, a property dispute in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah erupted into violence in anticipation of an Israel High Court hearing that was expected to rule on eviction proceedings. The dispute involved over 70 Palestinian tenants illegally residing in Jewish-owned properties. On May 9, 2021, the court postponed the hearing.
The Sheikh Jarrah dispute sparked violent clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli security forces in and around the Al Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount.
Incitement surrounding Al Aqsa and Sheikh Jarrah were leading factors in Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists firing over 4,300 rockets from Gaza at Israeli population centers on May 10-21, 2021. Israel responded by launching OGW, carrying out targeted military strikes against the terrorists and their infrastructure in Gaza.
Alnajjar’s tweet included a tweet from Israel’s official Twitter page that said: “This morning, 17,000 Muslims celebrated the end of Ramadan #EidAlFitr on the Temple Mount. During these challenging times, now more than ever we pray for peace in Jerusalem and elsewhere.”
On May 12, 2021, Alnajjar tweeted: “Israeli police attack al aqsa mosque every year during Ramadan. The rocks are self defense. It rocks make you scared and angry then you have a lot more inner conflict you need to ask yourself marina.”
During OGW in May 2021, Hamas reportedly used civilians as human shields to defend against Israeli counterstrikes. Hamas also launched rockets from densely populated civilian areas, stockpiled weapons in private homes and situated key operations facilities in civilian apartment buildings, near mosques, hospitals and schools.
On July 13, 2014, Alnajjar tweeted: “‘@IDFSpokesperson: A rocket fired from Gaza hit Ashkelon a short time ago and severely wounded an Israeli teenager.’ 1 wounded vs 150 dead.”
Hamas fired over 4,564 missiles and rockets at Israeli population centers during Operation Protective Edge (OPE) in July 2014.
Hatred of Israel
On June 6, 2021, Alnajjar tweeted: “F**k the occupation and f**k Israel til my last dying breath.”On May 15, 2021, Alnajjar tweeted: “Criticizing a government regime founded on ethnic cleansing, illegal settlements, approved systematic racism, and brutal militarized police on all but its own ‘natural citizens’ who aren’t Palestinian, doesn’t make us anti Semitic.”
On May 9, 2021, Alnajjar tweeted: “I don’t expect your opinion to change from The propaganda and lies they feed you at a young age to make you guys look like the victims when you been stealing land and performing ethnic cleansing since 1948.”
On July 31, 2014, Alnajjar tweeted: “avaaz.org/en/petition/Pr… sign petition to put israel on trial.”
Alnajjar’s tweet included a link to a petition that demanded the International Criminal Court and the United Nations “charge Benjamin Netanyahu & Israel for War Crimes against Humanity.”
On July 4, 2014, Alnajjar tweeted: “israeli defense soldiers arent cruel, or horrible… thats because you need to be human first. pigs...worthless pathetic cowardly pigs.”
BDS
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement was founded by Omar Barghouti in 2005 to challenge “international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism.” BDS is an allegedly “Palestinian-led movement,” although leading BDS activists have admitted [00:01:01] this is not true.
One of the demands of BDS includes [point 3] what is generally known as the “right of return,” a demand discredited as a way to eliminate Israel. Barghouti said the “right of return” is a means to “end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”
Barghouti has said that BDS “aims to turn Israel into a pariah state, as South Africa once was.”
In his activism, Barghouti has also said [00:05:55] regarding Israel: “Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of Palestine. No…rational Palestinian, not a sellout Palestinian, will ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine.”
The movement has been linked to numerous terrorist organizations and received a public endorsement from Hamas in 2017.
BDS initiatives include calling on institutions and individuals to divest from Israeli-affiliated companies, promoting academic and cultural boycotts of Israel, and organizing anti-Israel rallies, protests and campaigns.
The movement’s most notable achievement has been the infiltration of university campuses through lobbying for “BDS resolutions.” In these cases, student governments and student groups, backed by their own anti-Israel members and affiliates, have proposed resolutions on some form of boycott of, or divestment from, Israel and Israeli-affiliated entities.
Boycott resolutions, although non-binding, have been passed by student governments on numerous North American campuses.
BDS activity is often aggressive and disruptive. It has been noted that universities that pass BDS resolutions see a marked increase in anti-Semitic incidents on campus. On one campus, when the student government debated a BDS resolution, reports emerged of violent threats against those opposing it.
