• Illinois Prison Authority Avoiding Action on Laith Elhaj

  • Laith Elhaj is an Illinois correctional officer who was exposed by Canary Mission for his vicious and public hatred of Jews in December 2018. After making inquiries to the Illinois Department of Corrections, Canary Mission received a letter assuring that,

“the matter was currently under investigation and will

    be handled accordingly.”

Since that time, the Illinois Department of Corrections has not informed Canary Mission regarding the status or outcome of that investigation. At the same time, Elhaj is still employed as a correctional officer.

  •

“Enough is enough. The Illinois Department of Corrections owes it to the public as well as its prisoners to come forth with the results of its ‘investigation,’” Canary Mission said in a statement. “Elhaj is still employed and no answers have been forthcoming from the state.”

  • Laith Elhaj History

  • Laith Elhaj wrote the above tweets the day Israel found the murdered bodies of three teenage boys who had been kidnapped by the terror group Hamas 18 days earlier. The international press covered the kidnappings widely. The bodies were found in Palestinian-controlled territory. Hamas later admitted responsibility for the kidnappings and murders.
  • Laith Elhaj Tweets
  • As Israel began a crackdown against Hamas terrorists, Laith Elhaj tweeted on July 1, 2014, “Lmfao [Laughing my f**king a** off], really Israel. War over 3 16 year old boys? But you dip s**ts kill 16 year old Palestinians all day everyday? F**kin faggots.”

On July 8, 2014, Israel had officially launched Operation Protective Edge against Hamas to stop rocket fire targeting Israeli civilians and to destroy Hamas attack tunnels. On July 9, 2014, Elhaj tweeted to a pro-Israel Twitter user: “...hitler honestly shoulda took all of y'all out you f**kin pig…”

  • He later added: “...lmfao [laughing my f**king a** off] no kidnapping? Suck this d**k. Y'all are the scum of the earth. That's why y'all were kicked out of Europe.”

  • After Canary Mission broke the story, Laith Elhaj deleted the tweets. He has never acknowledged his hate. Further, the Illinois Department of Corrections has never addressed the results of its alleged investigation.
