ElKhatib’s tweet referred to another tweet of his from the same date that said: “That was me today in the class when I saw a black dude with an Israeli T-shirt and hoodie .”

Spreading Hatred of Israel

On September 29, 2020, ElKhatib tweeted: “Taking other cultures food and countries :) ” in response to a tweet that asked “what is Israel famous for?”

ElKhatib also retweeted a September 29, 2020 tweet that said “Genocide” in response to the same tweet asking “what is Israel famous for?”

On July 2, 2020, ElKhatib tweeted: “free palestine to the moon and back .” His tweet included a video that showed footage of anti-Israel protesters and various scenes of people tearing up, burning and spitting on Israeli flags.

On October 4, 2019, ElKhatib tweeted: “ARE YOU ISRAEL??? YOU STEAL STUFF AND CLAIM THAT ITS YOURS???!?!?”

On August 31, 2019, ElKhatib tweeted: “It’s gonna get LIT in Lebanon literally! Maaaan!! F**K ISRAEL!!” ElKhatib’s tweet referred to a tweet about Israeli preparations to defend itself against a threatened attack by Hezbollah.

On August 26, 2019, ElKhatib tweeted: “to whoever says that Israel wants peace.”

On the same date, he tweeted: “My country is being attacked by some filthy Israeli army and nobody is saying s**t :).”

On January 9, 2019, ElKhatib tweeted: “Like biryani is Chinese, noodles is Saudi And kabsa is American. F**kin dumb a**es telling people that shawarma is Israeli, Israel is not even real .”

Anti-Israel Conspiracies

On August 4, 2020, ElKhatib tweeted: “They’re saying that this was bombed by israel ” and uploaded a video showing the aftermath of the 2020 explosion of ammonium nitrate stored in a warehouse at the Beirut port.At least 203 people died and 6,500 were injured.

On the same date, ElKhatib tweeted: “One of the factories got bombed by israel,” in response to a tweet that asked “What happened?” referring to videos of the explosion.

Also on August 4, 2020, ElKhatib tweeted “Explain?” with a screenshot of the news in Arabic dated August 3, 2020, that quoted Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as saying: “we hit whom we targeted, Hezbollah must understand the message.” The day before the Beirut explosion, Israel had struck targets in Syria after an infiltration attempt suspected militants, and warned Hezbollah against attacking Israel.

On May 29, 2020, ElKhatib tweeted a photo of Israeli border police apprehending a Palestinian suspect, with text on the image that invoked the “Deadly Exchange” campaign promoted by Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP). 

The text on the image said: “And to my fellow Arabs and Palestinians, the tactic used to kill George Floyd is used daily by the IDF, who literally train American police, to subjugate and terrorize Palestinians.”

On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a black man, was arrested and killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  

In 2017, JVP launched the “Deadly Exchange” (DX) campaign, accusing American Jewish organizations of promoting human rights abuses by coordinating exchange programs between American and Israeli security personnel to advance “worst practices" and racist policies.
