Welch Fair

Overview

Welch Fair [Welch Fair III] has spread anti-Semitism and anti-Jewish conspiracy theories on social media.

Fair has self-identified as a “Hebrew Israelite” in reference to the Black Hebrew Israelites, an African American group whose members claim to be the true descendants of the ancient biblical Hebrews.

As of August 2020, Fair gave religious sermons and classes on the Youtube channel “Citizens of God's Kingdom,” where he went by “Pastor Fair.”

As of August 2020, Fair also used the name Ezra Ben Yisrael on Facebook.

As of August 2020, Fair was listed as located in Georgia.

Anti-Semitism

On February 3, 2020, Fair shared a Facebook post that featured a photo of Orthodox Jews and two other photos of groups of black people. The post said: “This Feb to mark Black History month we r gonna show u a 🔥 massive deception🔥 in the world. That the people currently in Israel claiming or thinking they are Jews are not…”

Fair commented on the post, saying: “Facts!.”

In a Youtube video published on December 1, 2019, Fair claimed [00:00:58] “The people in the land of Israel right now are considered Edomites, you got some people actually called them Ashkenazi Jews and they’re not Ashkenazi Jews though; they’re actually Edomites.”

Edom refers to the Biblical Edomites, who were the descendants of and representatives of the biblical figure Esau in the book of Genesis. In Jewish tradition, Edom came to be identified with the Roman empire and later extended to European and Western civilization, in general.

In relation [01:54:08] to an account by the historian Josephus about the disappearance [01:55:19] of the Idumeans (Edomites), following the fall of Jerusalem in 70 CE, Fair said [01:55:46]: ....they went from being called Idumeans to what? To Jewish people.That’s what happened, they went from being Idumeans to the Jews.”

Fair added [01:56:12]: “Yeah they took our heritage.”

Fair also quoted [02:22:18] from Revelation 2:9, saying: “‘I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan’ and then you read that Kabbalah they be reading, they be reading the Talmud, a lot of them don’t even believe in Christ..”

Kabbalah refers to the tradition of Jewish Mysticism and esoteric biblical interpretation and teachings.

The Talmud is a fundamental text of Rabbinic Judaism and a primary source of Jewish religious law and Jewish theology.

On January 28, 2018, Fair wrote on Facebook: “In due time, these edomites(Fake Jews) will be destroyed and purged out of our Homeland!!...”

The post featured a video produced by Now This about [00:00:00] Israeli immigration policy towards illegal migrants from Africa.

On December 19, 2017, Fair wrote on Facebook: “That EVIL STAR has nothing to do with Israel! The Rothchilds came up with that 🌟 to put on the flag of Israel!!...”

Fair’s post featured a graphic with an image of the Israeli flag and a caption that read: “I STAND AGAINST SATAN.”

On December 12, 2017, Fair wrote on Facebook: “These Edomites, Ashkenazi and kharzian Jews have the whole world decieved [sic]. They're fake Jews! I am ISRAEL. QAM YASHARAHLA!!!”

Fair’s post featured a graphic with a photo of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu praying at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

The “Khazar myth” refers to the assertion that Ashkenazi Jews are not descended from the ancient Israelites but instead come from the Khazar People, whose ruling class was said to have converted to Judaism. One way anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is to promote the Khazar myth to deny [00:02:16] Israel’s legitimacy through the denial of Jewish ancestry and Jews’ connection to the Land of Israel.

On May 3, 2016, Fair shared to Facebook a graphic that suggested that Jewish people were “Khazars” and descendants of the ancient kingdom of Khazaria.

On April 26, 2016, Fair shared a graphic on Facebook that featured the Jewish symbol of the Star of David and wrote: “This is evil!!”

On March 18, 2016, Fair shared a photo on Facebook of Orthodox Jews dancing and wrote: “Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens. Lamentations 5:2 KJV.”

Fair wrote in the comment section of the post: “...The Talmud is evil.”

On February 18, 2016, Fair shared a graphic that juxtaposed a photo of a Jewish person and a black man with a caption on the Jewish person that read: “JEW-ISH” and a caption that read: “JEW”on the black man.

Anti-Jewish Conspiracy Theories

On August 30, 2016, Fair posted a video that argued [00:00:38] that “Eastern European Jews” were descended from “Turkish Khazars who converted to Judaism.” Fair commented: “That's right!!!”

The narrator of the video went on to endorse [00:04:30] and cite [00:04:57] from the anti-Semitic booklets titled: “The International Jew,” by Henry Ford. The video also promoted [00:13:45] Holocaust revisionism.

Fair also shared the same video to Facebook on August 6, 2016, and commented:: “Powerful video!!!.”

On July 16, 2016, Fair shared a link on Facebook to a sinc- deleted article, titled: “The Ku Klux Klan Was Created by Jews.”

The post began by saying: “...The Ku Klux Klan was founded by Albert Pike, a thirty third degree Mason. Freemasonry is a Jewish machination…”

On January 4, 2016, Fair shared to Facebook a graphic with text that read: “The History Of The House Of Rothschild. No One Can Understand What Has Happened To The Planet Without Reading This.”

The caption continued: “The Rothschilds have been in control of the world for a very long time, their tentacles reaching into many aspects of our daily lives, as is documented in the following timeline.”

Conspiracy theories regarding the Rothschild family date back to the 18th century. Anti-Semites frequently cite the family’s wealth to support the claim that “Jews control the world’s money supply.”

Fair commented on the graphic, saying: “I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. Revelation 2:9 KJV.”
