Randy Smith

Overview

Randy Smith has carried out neo-Nazi activism, mocked the Holocaust and spread anti-Black racism.

As of October 2016, Smith was reportedly a “Master Sergeant” with the National Socialist Movement (NSM) in North Texas. According to NSM, Smith has been active with the group as early as December 2011. He is also affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).

Smith has reportedly tried in 2016 to “drum up support” for NSM in the Texas cities of Rockwell, Sherman and Denison, which are all within 75 miles of Dallas.

Neo-Nazi Activism

As of May 2019, Smith’s Twitter profile photo showed him in a neo-Nazi uniform giving a Nazi salute, with two white nationalist flags in the background, standing next to a statue of a KKK Klansman.

On October 12, 2016, Smith reportedly distributed NSM flyers in Denison, Texas.

On September 26, 2016, Smith tweeted a photo of about 20 people at a neo-Nazi gathering, some of whom gave a Nazi salute. He wrote: “White pride world wide 88 salute .”

On the same day, Smith tweeted a photo of neo-Nazis and Klansmen gathered in a circle just before a cross and swastika burning.

On June 22, 2016, Smith posted on Youtube a video that promoted NSM and featured [00:02:34] an image of a masked white man holding an assault rifle behind a Nazi swastika and the phrase “White Power.”

On May 12, 2016, Smith posted on Youtube a video of a joint NSM and KKK cross and swastika burning.

On April 25, 2016, Smith tweeted a photo from a joint NSM and KKK rally, writing: “White pride world wide .88⚡️⚡️14”

The “⚡️⚡️” symbolized the Nazi Schutzstaffel, or Nazis S.S., a powerful military organization in Nazi Germany. The “14” stood for the “14 Words,” a neo-Nazi phrase meaning: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children."

On the same day, Smith tweeted another photo from the rally and wrote: “#stop white genocide.”

Also on April 25, 2016, Smith tweeted another photo from the rally and wrote: “#white unity #white lives matter.”

On April 19, 2016, Smith tweeted: “It's rally wk brothers and sisters . OiOiOi .88. Hail victory. Time to put some boots on the ground.” He included an image of a Nazi soldier accompanied by Nazi aircraft and tanks.

On March 24, 2016, Smith posted on Youtube a video that promoted NSM and used [00:00:33] an image of a man holding a pistol and wearing a bandana with “88” written on it, a phrase that is code for “Heil Hitler.”

On November 6, 2015, Smith was featured in a Twitter photo with three other NSM activists holding NSM shields while giving a Nazi salute in Tupelo, Mississippi. They were there for a joint NSM and KKK rally and stood in front of a Confederate Civil War monument.  

On November 14, 2014, Smith posted on Youtube a video of an NSM rally in Rockwall, Texas.

On September 8, 2012, Smith wrote on the NSM website that he was the “NSM North TEXAS Unit Leader” and reported back on a “White Unity BBQ/Meeting” that he hosted.

Mocking the Holocaust

On April 24, 2015, Smith tweeted a graphic of an actor portraying Adolf  Hitler with the caption: “An Expensive Gas Bill? I Did Nazi That Coming.”

On March 24, 2016, Smith posted on Youtube a video that promoted NSM and included [00:00:48] a cartoon showing an enormous swastika crushing a Jew kneeling on a Star of David.

In the same video, Smith included [00:00:58] a photo of neo-Nazi activists holding a sign that said: “‘HOLOCAUST’ ANOTHER ‘JEW’ RACKET.”

Racism

On March 25, 2016, Smith tweeted a meme showing white British police officers detaining and frisking a black man. The meme depicted the officers saying: “IT LOOKS HUMAN” and “WHAT IS THIS THING” and “It’s horrible!”

On October 2, 2016, Smith tweeted a photo of a book about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that was burning in a fire.
