Overview
Paul Sylvers [Paul Adonis Sylvers] has promoted anti-Semitism online. Sylvers has also spread anti-Semitic and anti-Israel conspiracy theories.On May 20, 2021, Sylvers tweeted that he had been affiliated with the Nation of Islam (NOI), and planned “on going back soon” to the group. On September 6, 2022, Sylvers tweeted that he was a follower of Louis Farrakhan, NOI’s leader since 1977.
NOI was founded in 1930 and it has been called the “oldest Black nationalist organization in the U.S.” Farrakhan spreads anti-Semitism and race-based anti-white theology in his speeches.
As of December 2022, Sylvers’s Instagram bio read: “Real-Estate Investor, Crypto, Songwriter.”
As of December 2019, Sylver was located in New Jersey.
As of February 2023, Sylvers used the handle “@GEN1988” and went by the username “Gen Paul” on Facebook. Also as of February 2023, he used the handle “@GEN80” and the username “GEN” on Twitter. As of the same date, he used the handle “@44stone_” and the username “Adonis Paul” on Instagram.
Anti-Semitism
On November 15, 2022, Sylvers tweeted: “Says: I only defend Kanye on ‘certain things’ particularly the truth he spoke bout the Jews…I’m defending the truth not necessarily him.”In the fall of 2022, American rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, sparked controversy after tweeting that he would go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.” Ye also promoted [00:01:02, 00:04:37] anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and argued he was not anti-Semitic because “black people are actually Jew also.” In the wake of his remarks, Ye lost brand deals with companies such as Adidas, Gap and Foot Locker.
On November 9, 2022, Sylvers shared on Facebook a screenshot from a news article titled: “Michael Jackson calls Jews ‘leeches.’” Sylvers wrote: “He called them exactly what they are.”
On October 31, 2022, Sylvers posted an image on Facebook that contained a list of Jewish members of Congress who allegedly hold an Israeli passport. Sylvers wrote: “Dual Citizenship Dual Loyalty.”
The term “dual loyalty” is an anti-Semitic slur alleging that Jews are more loyal to Israel than their own nations.
On October 16, 2022, Sylvers posted on Twitter a video of Ye saying [00:01:06]: “You just get used to getting screwed by the Jewish media.” Sylvers wrote: “Well, I agree with him on THIS.”
The assertion that Jews control the media has been traced to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an anti-Semitic fabricated text that depicts wealthy Jews conspiring to take over the world.
On August 2, 2020, Sylvers tweeted: “...The so-called Jewish Holocaust was white on white crime and all the world wars where white on white crime...”
On July 13, 2020, Sylvers defended on Twitter media personality Nick Cannon. Sylvers wrote: “...so-called Jews always trying to bully Black People to apologize for telling or spreading the truth...If you can’t prove it’s ‘anti-semetic’ then WHY ask somebody to apologize? Because you said so? FOH [f**k outta here].”
In July 2020, television star Nick Cannon was fired by ViacomCBS after he made anti-Semitic comments on his podcast, for which he later apologized. Cannon reportedly promoted various anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, including the claim that Jewish people control the media. Cannon also reportedly suggested that Jewish people were not real Jews and that African Americans were “the true Hebrews.”
On June 26, 2020, Sylvers tweeted: “There are a chosen people and it’s NOT the so-called Jews...they stole our birthright/history too...”
On February 8, 2019, Sylvers tweeted: “I 2 don’t accept genocide 4 any1 but I’m not goin allow socalled Jews 2 hush Black People or other peepsbout genocide committed by Jews.”
Spreading Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theories
On November 4, 2022, Sylvers tweeted a video of Louis Farrakhan on Twitter where Farrakhan claimed [00:00:36] that a “jew Rothschild loan money to Adolf Hitler.”Conspiracy theories regarding the Rothschild family date back to the 18th century. Anti-Semites frequently cite the family’s wealth to support the claim that “Jews control the world’s money supply.”
On October 30, 2022, Sylvers tweeted: “Get these books ‘The Secret Relationship Between Blacks & Jews’ These books detail the Jouwish involvement in slave-trading in the Western Hemisphere. They were slave traders, auctioneers, plantation owners, and slave shippers Add to you library.”
The claim that Jews were dominant in the transatlantic slave trade was propagated in a book published by the Nation of Islam titled: “The Secret Relationship between Blacks and Jews.” The book has been discredited in a work titled: “Jews, Slaves, and the Slave Trade: Setting the Record Straight,” by John Jay College of Criminal Justice professor of history, Eli Faber.
On July 10, 2019, Sylvers shared a NOI graphic on Twitter titled: “Understanding the Synagogue of Satan.” The graphic claimed: “Jewish Talmudic rabbis corrupted the biblical story of Noah and turned it into the racist ‘Curse of Ham’ myth…[that] made the African fit only for slavery to whites.”
The phrase “synagogue of Satan” is mentioned in two verses from the New Testament’s Book of Revelation (2:9, 3:9), which have been used through the ages to justify anti-Semitism.
The Talmud is a fundamental text of Rabbinic Judaism and a primary source of Jewish religious law and Jewish theology.
On February 8, 2019, Sylvers tweeted: “So-called Jews are the 80 percent of them who do NOT have any historic connection to that land.” His tweet included a graphic that promoted the Khazar myth and read: “THE REAL JEWISH HOMELAND Khazaria in the Caucasus…”
The “Khazar myth” refers to the assertion that Ashkenazi Jews are not descended from the ancient Israelites but instead come from the Khazar People, whose ruling class was said to have converted to Judaism. One way anti-Israel activists spread anti-Semitism is to promote the Khazar myth to deny [00:02:16] Israel’s legitimacy through the denial of Jewish ancestry and Jews’ connection to the Land of Israel.
Also on February 8, 2019, Slyvers tweeted: “All ‘Jews’ benefited from our slavery in America. It enriched them. To this day THEY receive over 10 billion of OUR tax money a year.”
When another Twitter user challenged Sylvers’s tweet, he responded: “...for those who don’t ‘feel the same way’ they should correct the wrong they people did...they forced Germany to do it for them.”
On the same date, Sylvers tweeted: “I can give you some history..the so-called Jews stole land and probably were the biggest enslavers of Black People in the west.”
Anti-Israel Conspiracy Theories
On August 4, 2020, Sylvers tweeted a video of the Beirut port explosion that took place the same day. He wrote: “Israel?”On August 4, 2020, an explosion at a port in Beirut, Lebanon killed over 150 people and injured thousands. Lebanese officials explained that the cause of the explosion was ammonium nitrate stored at a warehouse.
On April 12, 2019, Sylvers tweeted: “Isis was allegedly created by Israel and America..plus 911 was a False Flag..inside job.”
