Overview

Lina Hammad has spread anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel on Twitter. 

As of August, 2020, Hammad’s Facebook profile said she “Studies at Northern Virginia Community College” and “started in 2018.”

On June 21, 2020 Hammad tweeted that she got accepted into Grand Canyon University in Arizona.

As of October 2020, the “About” section of Hammad’s Facebook page said she was a “Preschool Teacher's Assistant” at Haymarket Children’s Academy.

Anti-Semitism

On August 5, 2020 Hammad tweeted: “people acrually believe israel has nothing to do with what happened in Lebanon.... that has israel written all over it. yin3an al yahood [curse the Jews] and tfu [spit on you] if you support them. #prayforbeirut.” 

On August 4, 2020, an explosion at the port in Beirut, Lebanon killed over 150 people and injured thousands. Lebanese officials explained that the cause of the explosion was ammonium nitrate stored at a warehouse.

Anti-Israel outlets were quick to spread the conspiracy theory that Israel was behind the explosion. Independent fact-checkers ascertained that Israel was not involved.

On April 28, 2020, Hammad tweeted: “my heart hurts for all my people who suffer through this constantly. if you support israel, then you have no heart. PALESTINE DESERVES BETTER...#FreePalestine Allah yin3an al yahood tfu [God curse the Jews-spit on you ].” 

On April 27, 2020, Hammad tweeted: “fall semester is really online🙃 Allah yin3an al yahood [God, curse the Jews].”

Hatred of Israel

On July 19, 2018, Hammad tweeted: “why am i so tempted to throw rocks at these Israeli soldiers.”

Although romanticized as a form of “popular resistance,” rock throwing remains a deadly form of violence


On August 9, 2018, Hammad tweeted: “so some people really out here supporting Israel?? Y’all f**ked up.”

On October 3, 2019, Hammad tweeted: “there’s people out here actually supporting Israel...... let’s act like they haven’t been killing INNOCENT Palestinians since 1948 !!! #FreePalestine.”

On December 4, 2019, Hammad defended a student named Malek Mustafa, who reportedly vandalized an Israeli flag and a school display at Columbus State Community College by cutting down the Israeli flag from the school display and throwing it in the garbage. 

Hammad tweeted: “how about we demand actions against Israel for their actions against the Palestinian people.”

On August 6, 2020, Hammad tweeted: “you mean we can’t have nice things because of israel? because i completely agree.”

On May 26, 2020, Hammad posted a video to TikTok where she lip-synced to a muic video, holding a Palestinian flag in one hand and a waste basket labeled “Israel,” in her other hand. When the lyrics said: “I hate you,” “b**ch, f**k you, go to a cliff and jump off, b**ch. If you survive then jump again,” Hammad held up the trash bucket and tossed it away.

High School Anti Semitism 

On July 3, 2016 Hammad tweeted: “#GrowingUpPalestinian blaming the yahood [Jews] for everything wrong.” 

On December 14, 2017, Hammad tweeted: “Israel is the literal definition of khara [S**t]. Yin3an el yahood [curse the Jews] #FreePalestine.” 

On March 11, 2018, in response to an Israeli girl’s tweet, Hammad tweeted: “Yen3an el yahood [curse the Jews].”

High School Hatred of Israel

On December 11, 2017, Hamas tweeted: “Good afternoon, f**k Israel #FreePalestine.”

On December 10, 2017, Hammad tweeted: “daily tweet of me saying f**k Israel #FreePalestine.”

On December 8, 2017, Hammad tweeted: “hey f**k Israel...#FreePalestine.” 

On June 27, 2017, Hammad tweeted: “ISRAEL IS FAKE PALESTINE IS REAL.”

On December 6, 2017, Hammad posted on Instagram “Jerusalem is and always will be the capital of Palestine. Palestine was there before Israel. How would you feel if someone who knows nothing about YOU comes in and announces that the capital of your country is no longer yours and it belongs to another country?...How is someone who knows no history of Palestine going to come and say that? You can’t change history. You can’t erase history.” 

In December 2017, the U.S. government announced its decision to formally recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and to relocate the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
