Hanen Elayyan

Overview

Hanen Elayyan has trivialized Hitler, promoted anti-Semitism and spread hatred of Israel on Twitter. 

In 2014 and 2015, Elayyan indicated on Twitter that she aspired to become a Doctor. From 2012 - 2016, Elayyan indicated on Twitter that she was studying to become an “to become an optometrist.”

As of September 2019, Elayyan’s Facebook page said she was “Director of Talent” at Sunglass Hut, a Medical Assistant at Health Source RI and that she “Studied at” Rutgers University (Rutgers) in Newark.

As of September 2019, Elayyan’s LinkedIn page said she was a Store Manager at Sunglass Hut in Wayne, New Jersey, since October 2018, and was a Medical Office Assistant to Dr. Samir Zaina from “Jul 2013 - Dec 2013.”

Elayyan’s LinkedIn page also said she studied Biology at William Paterson University of New Jersey (WPUNJ), from “2017 - 2019,” and studied Biology/Biological Sciences at Passaic County Community College (PCCC) from “2012 — 2016” where she was the president of the Muslim Student Association (MSA).

As of June 2019, Elayyan used the name “Hanoon Elayyan” on Facebook and hanenPHILLIPINE on Twitter.

Trivializing Hitler

On August 1, 2012, Elayyan tweeted: “When I rule the world. ... I'm going to be worse Then #HITLER. Palestinian taking over!You already know what that means sucka**…”

On the same day, Elayyan tweeted: “I would make people kiss my feet for forgiveness.... #HITLER, got nothing on me.”

Anti-Semitism

On November 22, 2012, Elayyan tweeted: “excuse me ? What isn't supported by the Israelis ? A high percentage of America is overruled by the Jews .”

On July 3, 2014, Elayyan tweeted: “EVERYTHING YOUU BUY SUPPORTS THE JEWS .... THIS IS A COUNTRY THAT IS RAN BY THEM .”

On July 24, 2014, Elayyan tweeted: “It's those scum bag Zionist !!!!! They're Jews so that means we dislike them and we hope they all burn !!!”

On July 26, 2014, Elayyan tweeted: “The fact that I was about to get out of my car & smack the s**t out of a zio bit** #tooReal.”

The term "Zio" is a common derogatory reference to Zionists, as well as an often-used anti-Semitic slur among white supremacists.

Also on July 26, 2014, Elayyan tweeted: “i was so angry when I tweeted that , I wasn't paying attention but WE dislike the zio Jews not the Hasidic ones :).”

On November 27, 2014, Elayyan tweeted: “mind your business ZIO !!!”

Spreading Hatred of Israel

On July 14, 2014, Elayyan tweeted: “Zionism is a mental illness .”

On November 19, 2012, during Israel’s Operation Pillar of Defense (OPD), Elayyan tweeted: “Israeli officials say they are trying to end this in a ‘diplomatic way’ . What way ? The Israelis are killing innocent families !”

Israel launched OPD to stop Hamas rocket attacks on Israeli civilians from Gaza. Over the course of eight days in November 2012, Palestinian terrorist groups fired more than 1,500 rockets at Israel. The majority struck Israel, damaging homes, schools and other civilian areas. Human Rights Watch noted: “Palestinian armed groups made clear in their statements that harming civilians was their aim.”

On November 15, 2012, Elayyan tweeted: “Smfh America stay on their knees giving Israel head !!! What a damn shame !”

On November 14, 2012,Elayyan tweeted: “This is the Holocaust all over again , astagfurAllah.”

Also on November 14, 2012,Elayyan tweeted: “HATE IS A STRONG WORD .... Idc I HATE , HATE , HATE the dirty , low-lives , ignorant ZIONIST . They are the true TERRORIST !”

On the same day, Elayyan tweeted: “Non-Arabs are so quick to call Arabs/Muslims terrorists . While America is helping the actual TERRORIST , the ZIONIST.”

MSA

The MSA was  established by members of the Muslim Brotherhood in January 1963 at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with the goal of "spreading Islam as students in North America." A 2004 FBI investigation uncovered an internal Muslim Brotherhood document in which a brotherhood leader identified the MSA as "one of our organizations." 

The MSA reportedly has “nearly 600 chapters” located in the United States and Canada, and is “the most visible and influential Islamic student organization in North America,” boasting conferences, special events, publications, websites and other activities.

The organization includes a number of previous chapter presidents with explicit links to terrorist groups. Included are al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki (Colorado State University), Somali al-Shabaab militant leader Omar Shafik Hammami (University of South Alabama) and Pakistani Taliban recruiter Ramy Zamzam of the MSA's Washington, D.C. council.
