Habiba Zaghloul

Habiba Zaghloul participated in marches leading to the pro-Hamas encampment at UofT in May 2024. The encampment was in support of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.

On May 6, 2024, Zaghloul was featured [slide 8] in a photo from the UofT encampment, wearing a keffiyeh and holding a megaphone.

On May 25, 2024, Zaghloul participated [00:00:06] in an anti-Israel rally that began in central Toronto and made its way to the UofT encampment. In the same video that she appeared in, activists marched [00:00:37] holding a banner featuring the “emojiCode - 1f53b ” sign and glorifying “RESISTANCE.”

The inverted red triangle is a symbol showing support for Hamas and Palestinian terrorism. It was first used by Hamas during the October 7, 2023 Hamas terror attacks to signify an Israeli target.

Among Palestinians and anti-Israel activists, the term “resistance” is a euphemism for nationalistic terror and is used to glorify and encourage anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence.
