Deon Sinquefield
Overview
Deon Sinquefield has spread anti-Semitism and promoted anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.Sinquefield has self-identified as a “Hebrew Israelite” in reference to the Black Hebrew Israelites, an African American religious sect whose members claim to be the true descendants of the ancient biblical Hebrews.
As of December 2022, Sinquefield’s LinkedIn page said he has been working as a “Purchasing Analyst” at Holcim Building Envelope in Texas since July 2022. He was also pursuing a master's degree in Chemical Engineering at the Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU), slated to graduate in 2023. He graduated from PVAMU with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering in 2021.
As of December 2022, Sinquefield used the handle: “@SaySWOL” on Twitter and went by the username “✡️🕎 𐤃𐤏𐤅𐤀𐤋 𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤋.” His Twitter account also indicated that he was located in Houston, Texas and was a member of Sicarii Houston, a branch of the BHI group Sicarii.
Spreading Anti-Semitism
On June 24, 2022, Sinquefield tweeted: “...3. Judaism, or the jewISH man religion don’t have nothing to do with the Bible, they use the Talmud which is mostly oral and against the Torah, the first 4 books of bible.”On November 3, 2022, Sinquefield tweeted: “#KanyeWestand #KyrieIrving is right about the Jews and Israelites.”
In the fall of 2022, American rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, sparked controversy after tweeting that he would go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.” Ye also promoted [00:01:02, 00:04:37] anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and argued he was not anti-Semitic because “black people are actually Jew also.” In the wake of his remarks, Ye lost brand deals with companies such as Adidas, Gap and Foot Locker.
On November 4, 2022, Sinquefield promoted the film “Hebrews to Negroes; Wake Up Black America,” on Twitter.
In October 2022, NBA player Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets promoted on Twitter the film, “Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America.” The 2018 film called the death of six million Jews during the Holocaust as one of five fundamental lies invented by the Jews. In November 2022, the Nets suspended Irving for several weeks. In December 2022, Nike terminated its sponsorship deal with him.
On November 5, 2022, Sinquefield tweeted: “Whether you believe we’re the original Jews/Israelites or not, they are publicly suppressing, oppressing, and modern day buck breaking (look it up) our brother. When will black men stop being docile and buck broken and stand the hell up for our community. #IStandWithKyrie.”
The phrase “Buck Breaking” refers to the reported public rape and humiliation of rebellious black male slaves by white slave owners and merchants in the southern United States during the period of slavery.
Sinquefield retweeted aNovember 6, 2022 tweet that read: “Jewish people getting exposed day by day and I'm loving it like McDonald's.”
Sinquefield retweeted a November 9, 2022 tweet that read: “Day #235,799,903 of the Real Israelites waking up and destroying the JewISH lies with the Bible, facts, history and archeology: #IStandWithKyrieIrving #BoycottNBA.”
On November 11, 2022, Sinquefield tweeted: “The creator and author of ‘Hebrews to Negros’ is discussing the movie. This is the movie they suspended Kyrie for. Hear from the creators mouth if it’s ‘anti-Semitic’ #IStandWithKyrie #Kyrie.”
On November 22, 2022, Sinquefield tweeted: “😅 whelp it’s been real, might not have my account by the end of the night, but these fake ass J [Jewish] people got me f**ked up.”
Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theories
Sinquefield retweeted an October 19, 2022 tweet that read: “Jewish media is ran and controlled by these people which are all Jewish #Kanye wasn’t lying.”The assertion that Jews control the media has been traced to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an anti-Semitic fabricated text that depicts wealthy Jews conspiring to take over the world.
Sinquefield retweeted a June 25, 2022 tweet that read: “Ye: ‘joos have all the power in banking and entertainment.’Y’all: ‘he’s crazy!’Joos: ‘we terminated all business with Kanye in banking and entertainment.’”
Sinquefield retweeted a June 11, 2022 tweet that read: “The Jewish community will NOT get a pass on their LONG history of anti-blackness from their role in slavery to anti Black American hate to their hatred towards black Jews. Let me be VERY clear about that.”
The claim that Jews were dominant in the Transatlantic Slave Trade was propagated in a book published by the Nation of Islam, a branch of the Black Nationalist Movement titled: “Secret Relationship between Blacks and Jews”
The book has been discredited in a work titled: “Jews, Slaves, and the Slave Trade: Setting the Record Straight” by professor of History at City University, New York (CUNY), Eli Farber.
