Alisi Pahulu

Overview

Alisi Pahulu has spread anti-Semitism on Twitter. Pahulu has self-identified as a “Hebrew Israelite,” in reference to the Black Hebrew Israelites, an African American group whose members claim to be the true descendants of the ancient biblical Hebrews.  

In August 2017, Pahulu indicated on Twitter that she ran a fashion business named alisiboutique and was sewing clothes for the boutique in May 2018.

As of July 2020, Pahulu used the alias “k_alisi” on Twitter as well as by “Alisi” on Instagram.

As of the same date, Pahulu used the alias “alisiisrael” on a second Instagram account.

As of July 2020, Pahulu’s Facebook page said she studied at Compton College and lived in Long Beach California. 

As of the same date, Pahulu used the Facebook handle “aliceazariah.pahulu” and went by the name “Alisi Naphtali.”

Anti-Semitism

On June 25, 2020, Pahulu shared a meme on Instagram that used the Happy Merchant to depict Jews as being behind the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement and wrote: “#WAKEUP!!”

The Happy Merchant is an anti-Semitic cartoon caricature of a Jew with a black beard, long hooked nose, a hunched back, crooked teeth and wrung hands. The cartoon is often used in memes by white supremacists to spread conspiracy theories and harass Jews online.  

On March 17, 2020, Pahulu tweeted a photo of a Black Hebrew Israelite talking to an Orthodox Jew, saying: “YOU DON’T FIT THEM CURSES IN DEUTERONOMY 28 AND LEVITICUS 26.” 

Pahulu commented: “Revelation 2:9 KJV ‘I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.’”

On April 21, 2019, Pahulu tweeted: “You ain’t from Africa or wherever you think you from. The real motherland is ISRAEL where these so called ‘Jewish’ people took our LAND, IDENTITY, HISTORY! They spend trillions of dollars everyday to keep you asleep.”

On April 19, 2019, Pahulu tweeted: “I honestly laughed at this movie because how these Edomites stole the real Jews identity.”

Pahulu’s tweet was in response to another tweet that read: “Guess who is watching the Passion of the Christ tomorrow & crying all day. Me. I am.”

Edom refers to the Biblical Edomites, who were the descendants of and representatives of the biblical figure Esau in the book of Genesis. In Jewish tradition, Edom came to be identified with the Roman empire and later extended to European and Western civilization, in general. 

On July 5, 2017, Pahulu tweeted: “You know about the Rothschild?” The tweet was in response to another tweet that read: “I'm speakin to those who does NOT see the wrong in the U.S of America's Government!!”

Conspiracy theories regarding the Rothschild family date back to the 18th century. Anti-Semites frequently cite the family’s wealth to support the claim that “Jews control the world’s money supply.”

On February 17, 2017, Pahulu tweeted: “Realist tweet I seen!!12 tribes of Israel.”

Pahulu’s tweet was in response to another tweet that referred to the claim that Hitler said African Americans were the real Jews, a hoax which was exposed by the fact-checking website, Snopes.com.

A 2015 version of the hoax, published on the website FMLGoneViral.com, claimed that Hitler once said: “America has stolen the jews. The Jews of God. His jewelry. The negros. They are the true hebrews...”

On January 15, 2017, Pahulu tweeted a graphic that suggested that United States Presidents were owned by mostly Jewish individuals, including George Soros, Henry Kissenger and Jacob Rothschild.
