Shut Down IAC
On January 22, 2023, anti-Israel protestors gathered in Austin, Texas outside of the Israeli American Council (IAC) summit. Among the protestors were Mohammad Nabulsi, Lina Assi, Nidaa Lafi, Khaled Shihabi and Francis Cava Humphrey.
See profiles below
The IAC is a private, non-profit community organization for Israeli and American Jews living in America. It is a non-politcal organization and not affiliated with the Israeli government. Yet, protesters held the IAC accountable for the actions of the state of Israel and openly called for the murder of Jews.
Invoking Nazi “final solution” rhetoric, Nabulsi led the protestors in chanting “There is only one solution, intifada revolution!”
Nabulsi also directed his ire toward a pro-Israel Arab-Israeli, Yoseph Hadad, who was attending the IAC summit and engaged with the protesters. Nabulsi accused Hadad of being “hired by them [Israel] to say there is no apartheid” and yelled at Hadad, “Traitor traitor traitor!”. His wife, Lina Assi, then held up her middle finger directed at Hadad.
Protesters also chanted, “Intifada intifada, long live the intifada!” evoking the dark days of intifadas in Israel where, since 1987, scores of Israelis have been killed by hijackings, shootings, stabbings, knifings and suicide bombings. (The term “intifada” translates from Arabic as “uprising” or “insurrection.”)
In Arabic and accompanied by beating drums, protestors yelled, “Min an-nahar lil-maye Falasteen arabiyah” [from the river to the sea, Palestine is Arab], and “barra barra ya muhtall thawra thawra ma fish hal“ [The occupier get out get out there is no solution but the revolution].
(The chant and its English variation, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free,” are used as a call for the complete elimination of the State of Israel.)
Humphrey gave a speech and concluded by leading chants of “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” and “From Palestine to the Philippines, stop the US war machine.”
One protestor said that the protest “is here to reject the Israeli American Council’s existence” and accused Israel of rainbow washing [“pinkwashing”] “in order to appeal to liberals and progressives and rebrand the country...as a welcoming place for all people.”
“Pinkwashing” is an accusation used by anti-Israel activists to argue that Israel manipulates the LGBTQ community in order to garner support for the state.
A protestor on behalf of Student for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at the University of Houston (UH) accused Israel and America of having a “shared mission to oppress and harm colonized peoples for Imperialistic purposes.”
Here are the main players in this protest:
Lina Assi has spread anti-Semitism, expressed support for terrorists, led pro-terror anti-Israel rallies and celebrated intifada violence. She also promoted hatred of Zionists and Israel.
Mohammed Hisam Nabulsi is an anti-Israel activist who called for chaos in American cities and glorified terrorism in 2024. He celebrated intifada violence, honored terrorists, disrupted campus events and spread hatred of Israel.
Nidaa Lafi expressed support for terrorists and was an activist with Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at the University of Texas at Dallas (SJP UTD) in 2022.
Khaled Shihabi has promoted hatred of Israel and showed support for terror financiers. Shihabi was a Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).
Frances Cava Humphrey has spread hatred of Israel while speaking at a January 2023 anti-Israel rally.
